That's crazy to buy an aftermarket intake manifold and have to port it! Thanks for Buschur and STM to fix the manufactures mistakes.

Sucks about all the required work to get it working. Could just be a batch issue considering the differences noted.

My personal opinion is almost nothing goes on my car without first being modified to get every last bit out of it I can. Porting it is no big deal to me, and actually preferred since it probably gives you a little bit to work with before reaching the gasket size.

Em are you saying you will clean them all up before shipping them out to customers that buy them through you? Thanks and lmk.

I would have but From the tests we just did its just not worth it. Get your self a Buschur Ported manifold and it will do close to the same thing but it will have a lot less problems and actually fit right.

Here is the dyno sheet from today.

The only work we did to the car is switch from the Buschur ported intake manifold to the Skunk 2. Nothing else was touched other than the port work we did to make the manifold to the head transition better.

Even with the boost a little higher in the Skunk run it still lost down low and mid range.

Since your manifold was so weird compared to the other skunk2, do you think maybe you received a older version then the one out now that seems to be different?

also id like to see a map rev3 manifold compared to a regular ported stocker, since it is cut open and gutted 100%. i seem to be making lots of power on mine... but i dont see that happening anytime soon.

Myself and David both got the same manifold with the same issues so I doubt ours are the old ones. After a little more thought, This manifold is not doing a terrible job, Its just not worth the money or time put into it IMHO.

After doing an equal comparison we then turned up the boost and the graph got uglier and uglier. Simply put, It really pissed things off with even more boost.

Ah ok.. I never heard good things about Skunk products, Thats why I was shocked Curt was running their part. I had skunk2 coilovers years ago on a 2g and it drove like absolute ****.

We can leave Skunk products for the Honda guys LOL.

After a few more thoughts, I think I am going to go through everything on the car and look for more issues. I know for sure there are some small boost leaks on the manifold itself that could use a little more attention. Basically, the product they shipped us is just junk but maybe with a little more lover we can make something happen. I suppose if we can get the peak numbers up another 10 whp or so it may be worth the work. It just kinda boils down to how far do you go?

You guys might want to call Skunk direct and propose what you're doing with one of their products and I bet they will send you another Manifold to test free of charge.. If I was Skunk I would if I wanted my product to sell.

I think you got a older revision of that manifold, and you should call them and explain what you had to do to it so far just to make it right.. something is definitely wrong.

EDIT: chris @ no limit said he got his direct from skunk and it had no issues yours was seeing thats why i suggest just talking to skunk direct.

I agree Tom, seems there are way different quality issues from the manifold Chris got, and the one that Em and Dave got...

My intake and Emerys are for sure the new products. I think Chris tested his against a stock unported intake, which explains the gains by him and not Emery.

My runners are pretty horrible, casting seems off and the port work to try and help the situation hurt it from what I can see, this is the porting it comes with I am referring to. On top of that the throttle body opening is WAY larger than a stock or 65 mm TB. So the stock gasket is too small to seal and the supplied gasket is too big to seal.

I'm going to skip testing it. The product needs improvements to the design to be worth running and testing. I contacted Skunk to see if they are interested in changing the casting a bit.
