748whp on Dynodinamics is power of 8sec EVO with Q16. Last year I had 720-740 and ran 8.8sec with 45R. I can not imagine what I need to do to make Black to show this power Level at DD... We always have about 10-12% between Mustang and DD. DD is always lower but Mustang is lower than Dinojet about 10-15%. If 3582HTA does not able to make 748whp on DD then Black will be not able too. When our customers look at your numbers they always ask " how its possible? US friends have with 35r frame turbo like we at 42R size"... I dont know what I have to answer them... But I know if I want to up timing and make mixture more agressive to pursue your numbers, I will lose the engine. If you playing around words like WORLD RECORD and something you have to discuss the rules: petrol, Dyno, corrections. Any sports have the rules! I have had only 1 car from my shop with Black. This car had about 520HP not WHP at Mustang. The boost was 1.9bar and 93oct and weather was catastrofic hot. The further increase of pressure was not meaningful. I could play about 20-30hp, no more... This is the limit of this turbo with 93oct on such weather conditions.

Increasing the likelihood of turbo/engine failure yes?
I suppose if your gunning for records it's worth taking the risk - for most it isn't and reliability is a huge factor.

Karl
Karl, if you read through my first post you would see where I stated that the turbo is way above efficiency and shaft speed is out the roof. *** No street car w/ a Black should be anywhere near this hp/shaft speed *** Yes, the turbo won't last at that power, not even for 5 pulls likely. That is why I said my car is set back to 30psi on the street. I may even drop it to 28psi so it will last, that is still well into 600hp. Everyone knows what the turbo is rated at, vs. what it is capable of. We were just curious what the turbo would do on my car on full tilt and now we know.

I'm sorry if you don't agree with this or my record but as the only person, you are entitled to your own opinion.

it was done to set a record with not run at a road course with 40psi+. engine failure? no. turbo failure? yes.

free boosted = run with no wastegate signal period.. let the thing run whatever its capable of. id imagine the exhaust system was disconnected at the o2 also.

whatever you say or do you cant take away the hype from this car.. it makes sick power even with low boost.. its just a well built and thought out setup in general. custom parts + smart people = record setting results.

this turbo would hold up also going down the track at 40psi+.. but on a road course? hell no.

You think a turbo manufacturer is gonna advertise their turbos highest capable airflow numbers even when its out of its efficiency range? no.. just because a turbos rated at 38lb/min or whatever doesn't mean anything. Ive made a evo3 16g spin over 50lb/min already pulling line off wastegate.

i have no interest trying to compete with 748whp. id need to change my entire setup lol. the only way my current setup would do those numbers is if i added nitrous. if i hit 670 ill be happy in all honesty. for street use i will just set it for about 33-34psi. last time it only did 655-660 @ 40-41psi.

All fair points Mikey - I agree with what you are saying.
2.0 bar on a black will be fine for street/strip use
Lets face it 600bhp is plenty!!

Actually Tom the full exhaust was on the car. I pointed that out in my first post as well. The backpressure was so high the 02sniffer kept blowing out the exhaust tip even with it clamped down.

Like I said. There was nothing crazy about this dyno pull but boost. the car was dynoed the same way I drive it

sometimes i wonder if americans know the difference between wheel horse power and fly horse power, you always seem to make hollywood figures dont you guys.

that said i imagine the car is very rapid and when you live life a quarter mile at a time that is what you want i guess.

imo evos are not drag cars but each to their own.

dynos mean f#ck all its real world tarmac that counts!!! why care for numbers when its the performance we all want.

Funny that the most exaggerrated #'s come from cars outside the US.. Like Greeces 4k HP evo with 10 ballbearing turbo @ 100mm..

Are foreigners now making accounts to try and fight this, lol.

The setup is so far from a normal DD setup that I don't know why one would bother arguing. Great setup and power and if you really wanted to try and break this record you would need something similar and probably 2 FPblacks waiting to blow up

Good job Mikey.

Just because a setup makes more HP than 10HP/(lb/min) “rule” suggests doesn't mean you have forced the turbo to flow more than it is rated for. It likely just means you are making power more efficiently with that air.

Interesting choice of words considering these numbers are from a chassis dyno that would suggest "Wheel HP." If you agree they are accurate is a different topic, but that really was a foolish thing to say.

As far as not caring what a dyno says, why bother making a screen name and posting in this thread then?

To a certain extent yes...however wither something like Mikey's setup he is obviously over-spinning the *****.
