^ Im using the Synapse DV and have zero issues with surge on the EF3 without the antisurge housing.
Keep in mind the Synapse units are 'tunable' to work around Fluttering which can be easily confused with compressor surge.

AGREED. Flatter and Surge are 2 different things. My car suffers from both LOL
I`m leaning towards EF2 or EF3 in nearly future. I like this thread.

I am glad that you see the awesome benefit of selecting either turbo. Personally, I am a fan of the EF3 which is why it is sitting in my garage looking pretty.

My friend, being married to me is a full-time job. I drive my wife crazy between my deployments to Iraq/Afghanistan and my EVO hobby when I am home. Getting her those gifts ensures that I do not find my stuff BNIB on Craigslist. As for the EVO, I am waiting for Adam to send me a PM about a 2.3L Stage 1 and Chris about possibly getting a Stage 3 head.

I believe it (the EF3) is closer to the FP Red but I will wait for someone to chime in with accurate data.

EF3 is right in between the red and black as far as top end power and nearly identical to the red in spoolup, Which puts it ahead of both the BBK Full and Green by a fair margin in flow numbers.
There is very little info on the EF2 as far as comparisons, it seems the EF3 at this point has been the MVP of their lineup IMO.

For Evo 8 & 9 I would agree, but the Evo X guys have really been liking the EF2

Are the EF2 Wheels the same for the 8/9 application as the X?

been meaning to post my results but bin busy over new years but to make things short i really like the turbo a lot it is a little laggier than my previous evo 9 turbo but for the size and power it makes its not bad at all i love it. i had a lot of issues getting the car tuned (thanx a lot for every one at FFTEC for putting up with my car, especially Sean for staying very late to get it tuned best shop in norcal) mainly i ran out of fuel with the single 255 pump and it wasn't rewired but so far i'm very happy with the results next thing is another pump and see what this thing could relly do

it made 424whp/375wtq @ 30psi on a low reading mustang dyno on dynojet its very close to 500 estimating
