For those that don't need another gauge, but just want the functionality, the GM sensor is 'all' you need
Actually the zeitronic eca display outputs two separate 0-5v outputs for aftermarket ecu integration. One for fuel temp, he other for ethanol content.

However, you only require the sensor if your ecu can accept a digital input signal.

Now that we are talking about E85 fuel tester and there is one... Is there a tester for C16 Race gas or other levels of race gas that indicates the octane on it?

Thanks.

I would wait until it starts snowing in your area in a month or two and then report back the content. I dont think they will change the ethanol content until its really cold out.

So.. its been awhile since an update. Weren't as lucky as we thought, motor is going to need a full rebuild again.. the crank looks ok but everything else will have to be fixed. David doesn't sell the 2.3RPM in a kit so in order to get the same motor, I'd have to ship it back and have him rebuild it.

My schdeulde doesn't allow for that so i'm going to take the car in a different direction this time. The motor is already at the machine shop and waiting on a few custom pistons to be made. I sent the last 7670 that was on the car to be "checked" and they found piston was melted to the wheel so its pretty much shot. So much for trying to save that turbo...

I bought another (My third) 7670 turbo on monday and had it over nighted. It should be here today. I'm going to experiement with something a little different to see if it works anybetter. I'm having Road Race install the zetronix LCD guage with the GM sensor. it will be monitoring ethonal levels from now on.

The car won't see anything other then ehtonal;however, to avoid instances such as this I'm taking every precaution.

I'm going to use the ecu controled boost and internal BOV to see if we can't clean up the tune a bit better. I figure we might as well test it to see how well it works from the factory. There are pros and cons to this, I really just want to see for myself which is better.

At this point, I'm trying to get a 8374 just to see what that can do for the little red car lol. Everything else is on track. The holiday months keep me poor... but we'll get it knocked out.

I just thought they would start in November since it gets colder around now. GA gets snow for one day in January or February so I'll keep an eye out. If nothing else its good to know so I don't screwed like Leet did.

You give a whole new meaning to the word persevere. LOL. That sounds like the worst possible scenario. I went back to ECU controlled boost so I could use some of the failsafes built into TephraMods.

Trust me, I have my moments where I just want to scrap the whole project. I know... that I'd sell it all.... and in 6 months I'd be right back at it. I like to see things get finished and finished correctly... I'l like to finish it so I can drive it and enjoy it.

I have several other projects I want to start, but can't until I feel this is as close to 100% as possible.

aluminum stuck to turbine wheel is quite common and and an easy fix. whoever is trying to tell you its shot is trying to steal the turbo from you. have it sent to me I will give you 500 for it. and I am being serious.

How do you have an easy fix for removing the aluminum from the turbine wheel? Pray tell.

I tried to revive a 2871 that had this happen... I wasn't very successful.

Borgwarner is taking care of it. They sponsored a brand new turbine wheel as a thank you for using their product. They are going to look into the orginal turbo and figure out what it needs, but that may not be till January.

muriatic acid would do it, but i have no idea how the gamma-ti would like it. how about a torch? im sure the aluminum would melt right off before the wheel is hurt.

What are you going to do with the oil cooler? I was at the PRI this weekend and saw a company that cleans oil coolers and any type of coolers like radiators, intercooler, etc... they use an ultra sonic cleansing high pressure machines in a 4 way process with 4 different machines. Im sending mine this week...If you need the info let me know...I met Geoff at the show too, it was nice meeting him, very cool guy.
