Was thinking about getting the car re-tuned. Just have a basic Works tune from a while ago. I would like to be around 320whp and tq. Have a evo 9 BOV, intake, and catless 3in exhaust. What would I need to do to get that kind of power with an 03 evo 8. Just trying to re-amp the car..

i'd guess a IX turbo? cams? i made 333whp on my IX with 264 cams. take away the MIVEC and that should be around 320ish, i'd guess.

Do you have to worry about knock much on 91? 400-500+ is awesome on 91. I'm so scared to go above 22.5 psi though.

on the stock turbo I never went above 25psi. I now have a MAP 2.5 which flows more cfm..we're hoping to do around 27psi. all depends on how much air you can move before it gets too hot.

i finally have some 91oct numbers on my MAP ef2.5.

mods:
Injen IC piping/air intake/LICP
BR air filter (the older one)
AMS FMIC
MAP 2.5
FIC 1050s
3" BR TBE/no cat/3" Cherry Bomb muffler in place of cat
Greddy easycam
Grimmspeed MBC

everything else is 100% stock with no porting. i wanted to see what a simple build on a budget would do.

final numbers on VD were 390/330. the car starts up by spooling like stock and putting you into your seat, but then keeps making power all the way to 7k.

at first this turbo was going to "hold me over" until i could get a BB red.. but i think i just may keep it.

i'm super happy with how quickly power and torque come on. edited for dyno chart added:

Wow.. Massimo Power and KT Motoring got me what I needed. 91 and e85 tune and holy crap... On a dyno dynamics dyno I made 290 on 91 and 338 on e85. 9 turbo, RC1200, Walbro, 3in TBE, ETS LICP and an intake. Sounds low, but that dyno reads 16% lower than a dyno jet. Puts me right under 400whp with stock 8 cams and 95,000 miles. Auto X beast.. and silly fast on the street
