Official "Pure" 91 octane evo thread
I tuned a car to around 280 whp at 18 PSI on pure 90 octane with no cams only 2.75" down pipe, hks uicp, hks licp and hks intake.
I am guessing you should be in 300-310 whp range
2005 8 Turbo with the 10.5 hotside are nicer also Evo 5/6 turbo they also have the 10.5 hotside.
However you can still squeeze around 330-340 on 91 on your set up im sure.

91 octane...2.4l 4g64, stock cams, stock 9.8cm turbo.. bolt ons.. makes 275whp VD @ 6600ft elevation. It has a nice mid range but just seriously runs out of breathe w/ stock cams/turbo. Set it to 23psi, tapers to 17-18 up top (6500rpms). Can't get more out of it up this high, and the JE pistons w/ lots of slap just seem to like to knock with much timing. (1 degree at 4000, 12 at 6000 is all it will take).
HKS 272's on the way now, and then I'll pick a turbo. Probably going to go decently big on the turbo even though my goals are low (350-370whp). Like an EF3, FP red or black, 3076r etc. Should do it on pump without too much trouble though.

that's really good! i did the same on my IX with the same mods and 264 Tomei cams.
333/345. I don't remember the psi, though. It was pretty conservative and i couldn't log boost back then. i want to say it was something like 23psi tapering to 18-19.. but i'm not sure.
if you had no taper, i'd say that's about right for an VIII on 91 with the IX turbo.

Curious what results others are getting through a cat? I'm having a terrible time making clean power (no knock) through a 200-cell ceramic HFC. I'll get a couple counts in the mid range no matter how low the timing, and then by ~6k it's all over with lots of knock. 22psi tapering to 20. Load peaks at 255 so I'm not even making much power.

Next on my list is to troubleshoot:
- Log crankcase pressure
- Disable EGR to see if it's leaking
- Injectors?
There are no boost leaks.
