Shame the track is so far. Shifting early with a meaty powerband is pointless. Good job applying the suggestions.

Be careful living up in 8500-9000 land, you're on a stock block.

Ya its definitely better to build it before it blows.. (its inevitable - whether it happens 2 years from now or 1 month.. it will happen) that's the truth..

The stock internals can only handle so much power and abuse.. no matter if the tunes spot on or not.

Out at it again today. I turned on NLTS and it wasn't working too well... I adjusted the clutch out a little bit and it's working very well now! massive improvements. This is what it's all about, modding the car little by little, getting a little better a driving it, and enjoying the car.

Also fwiw, my revlimiter is set at 8650. It could be a little off since my tires are a little shorter but idk. lol either way 8650 is way too much for the stock bottom end + no springs and retainers on the street. I think i'm done testing her out now. If I can launch pretty well and shift like this, that ET is sure to drop! Time to go back to putting around, and keep the high rpm for the track.

And I'm saving up for a built bottom end as we speak... hopefully it doesn't pop, as the block itself and crank can be sold for good money... but if it does., then it does. i will build another motor and move on. I understand the risks, and the reward of a massive erection every time I step on the gas pedal outweighs them in my opinion. lol!

Thanks! it's getting better. I was honestly surprised at how it sounded in the video. before i've thought i was shifting pretty fast and then I'd hear it on video and it would be really slow. but this is the best i've done.

Just finish your tune already! I know of some f bodys and lsx cars in the STL and IL area that could use a little 2.3 hta86 loving.

for those who wanted to know .82 backside.

I have had my evo for 4 years now and i got it with 54k miles. I tuned it and got a gt3076r turbo and beat the hell out of it. Stock bottom end and head and i ran a 11.84 @ 119.5mph right before my build. When i took the engine out it had 137k and i have been running it @27-32psi of boost and it run perfect when i took it out. I just wanted to go faster and no worries with a built bottom end. And on the vd it was making 492hp 402tq And i reved it to 7850rpm daily.

I would say the tune is about %90 there. I am waiting on some wheels to come in currently. Car is on stands till I get them.

like a boss! I love reading stuff like this. I honestly may have selective reading. I only choose to listen to these stories. But ignore the stockish evo's blowing up!

glad it held for you. sounds like you did an excellent job building/tuning her. And your evo was built on a tuesday or wednesday.

Last year when I was at the track, I did nlts. I loved it at the track. I remember leaving that night, it was tough to get the car into reverse or first though lol. That was on my old twin. I havnt tried it yet on the triple.

Nlts seems like it will benefit bigger turbos since it doesnt have time to drop out of boost
