Getsideways MAPerformance EF3 2.4 LR Break In Jordantuned
Were you part of the group running the autoX? A lot of the organizers do a hella good job but seem to not want to say a ton to those of us running at the event...I have a ton of fun but it's odd you've been there 2 years, we've probably stood next to each other!
Theres so much going on that its kinda hard to get to know anyone, between wrenching on our friends or own cars to trying to stay on top of the competition and other portions of the event its hectic to say the least. I do remember meeting you there briefly while you were Autoxing your X
I wanted faster spool, quicker response, and honestly didnt care to be much over 500WHP. If it makes more thats fine with me!
Yes myself and the car have been at every proving grounds except the first one i think, Love that event!
As far as power maybe you know more then I do, Which is a similar 2.4 on MAPs dyno on an Original BETA EF3 made low 600s.
I know it makes more power then a Red hands down and ive seen Plenty of Reds in the mid 500s and several High 500s.
If you do the math from the boost and timing not to mention the fuel being super rich how will it not crack 600?
Thats the first and last time it will be on the ice this year. Pretty good chance you wont see it this summer either as i will likely be selling it, I need a break from the car scene and all the know it alls :P
EDIT: Forgot to mention the car had made 527WHP Self Tuned on the Stock 2.0 with GSC S1 Stock Head, IM, TB, MAF, Recirculated downpipe.
On the previous 2.4 setup it did make over 600WHP With my crappy fingers tuning the car. Both numbers on the EF3 turbo.

nice car and awesome power/powerband. im a little weary of trusting the numbers that MAP claims to get from their parts. they claim +47tq and +35hp at 3800rpm from their rev3 IM but NO ONE has repeated those results. same with their long runner exhaust manifold, inflated numbers.

That being said the fact is their Rev3 is the best variation of the stock manifold to date, you want more power you will have to make the jump to a magnus or similar and will loose down low to gain up top, along with making changes in the engine bay and adding oodles of time to the tuning process, but to each their own.

It's totally dependent on setup and what is bottlenecking it.
My IX was the one used for the Rev3 intake manifold testing; as Carey said, I was present for all of it. My laptop was use for monitoring the logs and no changes to the tune or boost were made. The car was on the stock turbo and 93-octane.
Mostly, I did very recently end up selling the car, luckily it went to a good owner that wants to continue to push the car and drive it the way it deserves.
Kevin at evo dynamics did the latest tune. On their Mustang dyno it put out 532WHP, Should equate to about 600+ on maps dynojet.
That was with the walbro 400 (E85 version) No rewire, stock regulator, stock rail and lines. That was the limit of the fuel system, and its holding the car back from more power right now according to The guys ar EvoD.

They might chime in on the sizes, I dont know what they are personally.
I know MAP has tested it back to back against a red back in the beta tests and it made more power.
I've tuned several FP red and Black cars, and in my Opinion this turbo is smack dab in the middle of them powerwise while spooling nearly identical to the red. Couple that with the fact its WAY cheaper while still being perfectly reliable, Its my favorite stock frame turbo on the market hands down.
The numbers don't lie, Impressive power at low boost, with an Uber conservative tune, And a lot of low end power to be gained once we up the Internal spring pressure. I know the next step will be night and day difference from what is observed here.
I know very little of the BBK series besides the Original Full.

why would you say that the EF3 is in between the Red and the Black? What leads you to that conclusion? I have heard that mentioned before, but so far from what I have seen the EF3 is on par with the red but still hasn't even come close to what the Red has put down.
