If anybody comes out with a O2 housing solution to mate with an existing DP they will make thousands and encourage more sales with the SS backend. I'm trying not to bash but if you coming out with a product make sure you have a complete solution for those who have already spent supporting you in the past. Map and Fab solution is dumb and only caters for someone who does not already have a downpipe.

Anybody taken a look at making this downpipe option work for the SS housings?

http://www.lancershop.com/customer/product.php?productid=2567&cat=67&page=1

I know it's not made for this but it looks close and it's < $300. I have searched everywhere for info.

If theses FP turbo's came out 6 months earlier id prob own one and not a v-band kit because of the cost of getting one and doing it correctly was about 2x's the cost trust me! Im sure 90% of you guys commenting still have stock frame turbo and don't understand how much it really costs. I was like that too thinking the v-band kit was only 3.5-4k total.. Think again.
Couldn't agree anymore !!! If this turbo came out 6 months ago it would've been on my car. Oh well. Can't complain still love the 3586.

I am curious of the same.

As long as FP, BBK, MAP, etc promises to keep rebuilding MHI turbos, I'm happy LOL

If I decide to forgo smog regulation, I will get one of these.

Beautiful looking turbos. I agree, that pricing on a t3 kit and putting together this with options is in the same ballpark.

The only issue comes from if you break the turbo and have to buy one, most t3 turbos are half the cost of this which means over the life of the kit it could be more expensive to keep buying these which people have alluded to here already.

That being said, if you aren't breaking stuff you aren't trying hard enough in this game! I think these are pretty bad *** and would run one for sure to keep things simple(r).

After all my various setups I have come to realize the more OEM stuff you can use the better.

Just some FYI

FP is working on a O2 housing like they have for the DSM turbos (3065) that will bolt to your downpipe. No time frame of release yet.

Also the issue with a T3 or T4 turbo setup is you HAVE to buy a manifold, the factory water and oil lines have to be made since the factory lines won't work.

I prefer for a street car a large frame factory replacement turbo, for the ease of installation and the fact that you can easily make over 500awhp on them which is plenty for a street car.

The price tag on FP turbos are high, but the customer service and quality of their turbos are second to none.

Also as you can see in the pics the new center cartridges on the stock frame turbos is no longer a MHI cartridge. They are now billet and have 360° cooling ability versus 180° of the factory MHI cartridge. Which was an issue before for people who really beat their stock frame turbo to death.

In actuality, anyone purchasing this would probably end up replacing the manifold anyways, doesnt make sense to not maximize the turbo by keeping the stock manifold in place with the divided runners. To get the car up and running, yea no manifold, to get the turbo to the efficiency potential of a t3 or just its own potential, yea your getting a manifold.

No shops have any dyno results? I would like to see what "normal" customer cars put down with these turbos.
