Evo 8 - Overboosting

Hey everyone.

I have an Evo 8 that I am currently tuning. I will attach parts list at the bottom of the thread. I am new to tuning and I have hit a roadblock. The car is building boost but its not holding it at my set desired boost level.
The WGDC seems to always be 100. Can anyone give some advice with this ? I will attach my ROM and my most recent log. I am hitting a cut at 5k rpm whenever I do WOT pulls. It doesn't happen outside of WOT.

I have to street tune, there are no dynos in my country.

Double checked my BCS setup and even put a new Grimmspeed BCS. Any help or advice would be great.Engine Rebuild Parts

Seems like a possible boost leak? I took a look at the log and it seems that the RPM and boost are building til you cut it off at 5k?

I did a boost leak test and it was holding the pressure.

It consistently cuts at 5k rpm in any gear.
Before this it was underboosting.

I made some changes to the WGDC MAP, TPS WGDC, BOOST CORRECTION and some other boost settings.

I'm not sure because im new to this but the WGDC seems to be issue but I'm not sure why.

This is silly but did you check the rev limiter? On the stock ECU, I think that is the only "cut" available?

I can't take a peak at the map right now but that would be my guess.

There's boost cut and fuel cut, i think its hitting one of those since the boost is building but not holding at the set boost psi.
The rev limiter is not set to 5k, I can go past 5k once I am not going full throttle.

I'm not sure why the boost is just building and building and not holding.

Yea, thats strange. Maybe someone else with a little more knowledge can chime in. I can try and take a look at the map later today and see if I notice anything odd.

i had a look at your maps... i think that's one of the worst timing & fueling maps i've ever seen in the last 25+ years... i'm surprised it didn't blew up yet lol

Completely unrealistic desired engine load tables, identical low & high oct ignition maps (should only be like this during mapping itself), just straight out Fuel maps that have a complete flat FUEL table, wdgc corrections will try to overshoot constantly

zero vertical or horizontal interpolation, this whole map file scares me

this might sounds harsh but your car should be mapped from 0 again, by someone that actually knows what they are doing... you are are basically risking to grenade your engine every time you do a WOT pull now

atleast zero out our WDGC tables and try getting your AFR set first in closed loop before moving into openloop (bump openloop tresholds), correct your timing , before trying to build any boost you should not be going over 120kpa for this, boost control is the absolute last step in a tuning process

Thanks for the feedback. I appreciate it. There's not much support here. But I'll park the car until I can figure out an E tuning option.

100% helped me there.
