Post exact weights of weight reduction you have done!
yeah, the rotational weight really is worth it's weight in gold, since it's got a double performance gain. Though, not like I actually know the amount... STM shows dyno gains on their site for lightweight brakes, entire RPM range...
Exhaust I wish I had thought out beforehand. I wasn't worried about weight then, and got an exhaust I love, but it's not remotely light. Probably could have had it made in aluminum if I was smart, or just went baller for Ti. But I'm certainly not buying it over again for a long time, unless I find someone wanting to buy mine.

I looked up STM's hydraulic brake. It's non-ABS only. Which is a no-go for me. I need ABS for autox, I'm just not good enough to get away with not having it. especially on R-compounds that don't give warning before lockup. I also still have a/c, so obviously some things I'm not willing to sacrifice, lol.

i know what I'm trying this spring with my e-brake. hahaha. Hopefully it works with a stock e-brake too. I think gravity will do it... If not, I'll rig a throttle return spring in there.
This is were I'm jammed up. I have the seats and I have a 12 lb exhaust. Your right on the price per lb for the rears over are current setup but I am out of options. I am going to get exact weights of the rears today and look into the brake man kits as well. Remember too some of the savings is rotation
I know I'll have the back seat back in this year at the shootout and the exhaust will balance that weight out but adding another 75lbs or so for cage is bothering me. I think I have another .3 tenths in just seat time in the car. I just don't know how much 75lbs is going to hurt my et goal of 9.50@150 on a 6262. $2200 for roof and seats would equal out the cage weight but that's a ton of money for minimal gain imo. At this point there's just no good option. I don't want to run without safety equipment anymore and financially I just don't want to spend the money for big dollar weight reduction plus other than a roof I refuse to cut the car up noticeably. The seats really aren't that much money but I also don't want it looking like a "race car" anymore than it has to. If I find a way to drop 75 lbs Ill let you guys know lol.
yeah I have 25lbs to loose in exhaust, 25-40 lbs in seats, a sunroof I hate. I could spend the money on a 6466 and gain another 100hp for the price of a cf roof.

go on a diet and lose 75 lbs?
Yea I don't want to cut my car up either. Without knowing your weight reduction list I couldn't help you. I am at a point now that if I want more weight gone without ruining the car then it will cost me. So on that note

FWIW, I've posted caliper and rotor weights front and rear in this thread.
Something to consider with that Hydraulic setup is that the e-brake does have a purpose. Should you lose line pressure, the e-brake is mechanical and completely independent of the hydraulic brake system. It is an emergency brake. That hydraulic hand brake won't work if you lose line pressure and you will have no back up braking system.
I'm really curious if you could maybe modify a 4-pot caliper to make it a 2+2 caliper. 2 pistons for the E-brake, 2-pistons for the normal brakes. The issue would be the pad at that point. Performance Friction makes a 4-pot caliper that has 4 individual pads though...

i love this thread, but it has become massive and difficult to search through. Someone on the forum was smart enough to go through most of it, and note which post #'s have certain good information.
I took over this thread because someone didn't keep up with it. I spent a lot of time redoing most of it and hing threw all the threads. If you want to do what you asked go for it. Go threw the hole thread pick out the high lights and pm them to me and ill add them into the first post.
