alarms on the evo...

i was going to get a viper alarm with the pager so i know if anythings being touched, but this guy at a pretty popular evo shop told me "look dont waste your money on an alarm if they're going to steal your car their going to steal your car" so i kinda was like "......" doesn't an alarm help a lot if they try to hot wire it and stuff like that? of course i know if someone wanted to steal it they could throw it on a tow truck and it'd be gone but as far as some moron trying to break in and run is an alarm worth getting?

having a viper alarm brain helps a ton right when it comes to someone trying to hot wire or jam a screw driver in your car it just wont start unless its unarmed?

Alarms will deter amateur car thieves but a pro WILL steal your car if they want to. Immobilizers, alarms, whatever. They're all minor bumps in the process of stealing your car for pros.

One solution (which is what I'm doing) is having a 2 way page alarm system installed + a Ravelco immobilizer unit. Ravelco to help keep my car from getting stolen by pros (unless they tow it away) and a 2 way page alarm for amateurs and to set the alarm off if the car is raised. It won't make my car 100% safe, but it's better than just an alarm.

When putting an alarm in though you gotta actually hide the box and the horns. not like everyone else who puts the box right under the dash and the horns right out in the open.

Yes I garage it at night but I mean going to the mall. Going to g/fs house and other stuff when its outside is what I worry about. If it gets jacked with it moded is what bothers me the most.

I would recommend getting an alarm. Someone broke into my car and stole over a grands worth of camera equipment and a v1. I was ticked.
