alarms on the evo...
I did email Compustar but they don't seem to do installs themselves, which is a shame as they are very close. I did go into a store in Bellevue that has a good reputation (its a chain, I forget the name) but they were closing their car audio side and only had some old Clifford systems left, so I passed.
I'm selling the car now anyway

Its not always about the alarm itself, but location, location, location. I run three sirens, independently powered by seperate relays, battery backup, and all my alarm wiring is ran with factory split loom. You cannot even tell it has an alarm, except for the bright blue status indicator in the middle of the dash.
Believe me, its bright, lights the whole car up at night. There is a pop out panel by the windshield right in the middle of the HVAC vents. You'll see it, mount the LED there.
Also, an alarm is very easy to bypass, especially the starter kill. I will not go into details...again...
Any questions, i am open to PM's. I held an MECP certification and ran an installations shop for 3 years. I got out of the business to move up in the company.

Yeah, CompuSTAR is definitely the way to go in Washington. I have the CompuSTAR 3000 with the 2way remote. Came with Knock Sensors, Adjustable Proximity Sensors, Clutch by-pass, Remote Start, Starter Kill, A Secondary Key-less Entry remote(great if you ever lock the keys in the car) and if you ever wanted it, has auxillary options for trunk or windows if you ever wanted to hook it up. On a new battery my remote has been proven to work over a mile in some areas and always at a 1/2+ mile, which is great because of my second residence in Seattle. Also allows me to start the car and have it warm by the time I get in it so I don't have to wait for it to warm up. 11,000 miles and I can say I've never driven an inch without it being warmed up. Unfortunately, I'm selling it. But I have to hit the 50 posts mark before I can post it here. =/.

What the heck? Don't put a car alarm on because they will steal it if they want it? That's like saying don't change your underwear because they will get dirty anyway....at least while riding in an Evo. haha
