The airspace on our 12" box is the same as the 10" box, 1cube. It's the same box with a different face on it, so if you sat the two of them next to each other they are absolutely identical except for the hole cutout. As for the tuning frequency i guess that would depend on the woofer used. Since we built it to be universal to woofers that require 1cube it would be tuned to whatever that woofer produces at 1cube.

I just wanted to let everyone know about my experience with MConsoliA4....

I ordered the box once the price dropped to $250 for the 10 and got a 10w6v2 along with it. Got a great deal on the sub (and the box was a great deal also).

Unfortunately when I got the box the sub wouldn't drop all the way into it. His first recommendation was to try to use a rotary cutter and enlarge the hole enough for the sub to fit in. Should have been easy enough (the shop I have access to is 2 hours from me right now, and this was the weekend so he couldn't talk to his shop's owner).

.....So I got to work with a fiberglass rotary cutter on my Dremel and found out that I had to cut about 1/4-1/2" of the fiberglass away all the way out to the ring. Just before I was done the bit cought the carpet and pulled it up, breaking the bit in the process.

Monday rolled around and Mconsoli had me call the shop, the shop owner was happy to take it back and fix it... unfortunately that cost another 2 weeks before the box could get back and I could install, and also cost $23 to ship back.

Thankfully, he routed the box out so the sub would drop in, re-carpeted it, and even added a block of foam so that I would have the correct displacement for my particular sub. The mounting surface for the woofer was a little rough from my crap-job of using improper tools for the job, but I can't complain too much about that. Also, not sure why but the terminal cup was taken out and re-mounted turned a few degrees from the first time... possibly to clean it?

All in all the fitment against the trunk is great. He said they hadn't fit that sub in any of the boxes yet and the w0 and w3 fit without issue. Of course it would have been nice for it to all work the first time around, but im not terribly disappointed with the service.

If you would like pics let me know. I'm also looking for grille ideas if anyone has them.... (I liked the SE badged grille I had on my perfect 12.1D )

all of you that have that fiberglass box from MConsoliA4. how does it sound in the Evo? does it have good SPL (bass) ? does any one have any spl numbers to back it up? i am just wondering. i have been looking at this box a few times on ebay. but didn't know of hand how it sound. i know it is about what kind of sub that you use also. i have a old school phoenix gold xmax sub. but for the sealed specs is calling for 1.5 cubed. and i don't know if he could add a 0.5 to the fiberglass box. can you MConsoliA4?

So far as I know the dimensions of a sealed box don't matter much, only the internal volume. I dropped from a 12 to a 10 so I don't have an awesome comparison... but my car *sounds* much better now. It obviously can't dip as low, and it doesn't bump as hard... but I think alot of the bump I had before was spikey non-linear sound. I can still get the 10w6v2 to hit pretty decent for a single 10 though.

My car sounding good is much more important to me... and now I've found I don't have to fiddle with the sub level all the time. I will miss that bump a little bit, but I'm happy!

MConsoliA4,

What is the recommended attachment point for your enclosure to the vehicle to prevent it from moving around during hard cornering, etc.?
Can you post a picture of this or drawing, thanks.
