Absolutely, the pressure created by the subs would max the suspension of the rear deack speakers and create mechanical distortion.

If you ABSOLUTELY wanted rear speakers AND a good amount of bass in the trunk, you can add foam baffles to the rear speakers, they act as an enclosure and protect the speakers from absurd pressure levels blowing through them.

Here is my trunk. We did this back in 03 when I first picked up the car.
The subs are in a sealed box that is fitted to the spare tire well.
The entire floor / sub enclosure lifts out for when I go to the track.
I have a grill to place over the subs if I need to use the trunk.

Youre not the only one. They system is going to be all alpine, pdx amps, type x speakers, iva d310 and pxa h701. I'm really excited about getting it all in to install. It shouldnt be but a couple of weeks before all the parts are in and installed.

Well before a war starts... We only make the Driver's side. Reason being is that it was deeper than the passenger side. But for future reference, subs firing towards each other only cancel each other out is they are EXACTLY pointing towards each other and spaced out exact to where a wave's point from either side meets and cancels, though possible, it's very unlikely. Our box does not stand the woofer completely straight and it does give it a slight angle towards the back of the seat, in case we were to make a passenger side, they would not cancel.

As for fitment in a regular Lancer, i need to get one in the shop and test it. This was built from an 06 Evo and we had a 03 or 04 Lancer Ralliart in for a remote start and when we tried it, i believe there was some issue with the side not being identical in both cars. I'll keep you posted when we get another one in

I just got MConsoliA4's box in the mail last week. We installed it and it looks great. The carpeting matches the trunk and the fiberglassing is top notch.

Thanks!

I'll be posting pics when we finally get everything installed.

On the second box bit, the windshield wiper fluid is on that side. So any box would have to work around this. I don't see that happening.
