Post Your Custom Sub Enclosure Here!
my system is installed and I have to download the pics, but i'm was just amazed. the enclosure fits purrrrrfectly in the driver's side corner of the trunk. I have the cusco v-brace rear strut bar and always had concerns about how i was going to have to work around it. Problem solved. I will upload the pics this afternoon. For any of you who are looking at just putting in one sub (10/12) concerned about weight and space, take a really good look at this enclosure.
Well before a war starts... We only make the Driver's side. Reason being is that it was deeper than the passenger side. But for future reference, subs firing towards each other only cancel each other out is they are EXACTLY pointing towards each other and spaced out exact to where a wave's point from either side meets and cancels, though possible, it's very unlikely. Our box does not stand the woofer completely straight and it does give it a slight angle towards the back of the seat, in case we were to make a passenger side, they would not cancel.
As for fitment in a regular Lancer, i need to get one in the shop and test it. This was built from an 06 Evo and we had a 03 or 04 Lancer Ralliart in for a remote start and when we tried it, i believe there was some issue with the side not being identical in both cars. I'll keep you posted when we get another one in

I just want to make the point that there is cancellation even with a single sub. Standing waves and reflections of the long wavelength of sub frequencies cause it. I built a G35 that was a world cahmpion car a few years ago and had 2 subs angled in each corner of the trunk. After taking the phase curve measurements we inverted the phase on the passenger side enclosure and saw an increase of more than 6db in output. I recommend trying the opposite phasing with a single sub since that can move standing waves to a more desireable location. You can also increase the "up front bass" effect in some cases.
just finished this sub box off, made up of a fibreglass back and mdf from top and side. all sealed together with fibreglass, resin and silicone.
its running a 10" infinity sub and infinity amp under my passenger seat, which is your drivers side seat.
dont look much but pack's a nice punch and made my system sound a lot better.

Matt, I've sent the pics to your email address. for those who are wondering why i'm not posting them, my home cpu is on the fritz and i cant do anything with the pics here at work.

it does get loud, but i'm not really pushing it. the amp is alpine pdx 1.1000. the amp is 1000watts RMS which matches the sub, but the amp is underrated. its more like 1300 rms. I'm tweaking my system to get more power to better the sound, but as of now, i'm still very pleased.
For everybody looking at the MconsoliA4 box I'm looking for a modular but very secure way to get this thing in there... it seems to stay pretty well, but I want some hardware to keep it in. I don't imagine I'll ever upgrade, this thing looks great... so welding is not out of the option
So far the best Idea I have really come up with is a gravity latch (for a gated fence) that could latch onto a U ring welded into the floor. It seemed like the perfect solution until I got the box. It looks like the only way for it to really come out is to slide from the drivers side to the passengers side, or to swing from the front (of the vehicle) corner.
Anybody have any other good ideas?
