pioneer z1, psssssssssssss noise
i have just finished installing the z1. i have infinity speakers from oem upgrade.
when i turn my car on, i hear a bzzzt pop. after that, the volume is extremely loud. as if there is lots and lots gain. i hear the psssssssssssssssss in the back ground. i tried turning the volume down as well as many other volume settings, but ill just hear less music and sound, and even when the sound is all the way down, i hear the gain.
someone please tell me how i fix this.
i used the harness that allows me to connect the infinity speakers to the navis front left front right rear left rear right.
the harness came in red and white cable cords, so i had to splice it. i cut the cable and used the inside as positive and outside as negative. i know i didnt switch around the left right

Yep, the factory amp is screwing you up. You need to find a different ground other that just any chassis ground. I found splicing into the cig lighter ground works out pretty well.
sorry, i was being a newbie.. i just read the installation manual over again.
i accidentally connected the mitah blue wire which is the lead on wire to the power antenna which it says in the manual dont do that, thats why it was buzzing.
the reason why i did this is because i wasnt using the rca connector that came with the nav. i am going to try to plug in the rca connector and put the lead on blue wire from the mitah to the blue wire with white stripe from the rca connector. hopefully this will make that buzz sound go away.
if that doesnt work, i need to buy another harness, and not cut off the rca cables like i did for this one. and just try plugging all the rcas and the mitah blue wire to the rca connector.
lets wish me luck.

alright, so i connected that blue wire to the correct lead wire, and yet i still hear the pop when i turn off the navi and it still has the buzz as if there is too much gain on the speakers. what could be the problem? could it be because i spliced the rca cables? should i try buying the Mitah harness again, and try without splicing the rca cables?

The unit was probably still grounded through the antenna. Thats why it might have stayed on. I know of a method that may get rid of the pop for you but I cant remember it right now. I know it involves a SPDT relay on the the remote wire. Using a diode across 2 of terminals. I cant remember which two terminals the diode gets soldered to though. I'll try to find out for you by noon.
