I have both the METRA and MITAH adapters needed, brand new in box for sale. PM me if you are interested. I can combine shipping and save you some money.

I dont think this thread deservs a sticky, there is no info!

If you want a audio sticky it should contain ALL sizes, ALL part numbers for adapters and where available, maybee some maximum depths for the doors. . .

everything i read here i could have learned from a trip to circuit city.

Sometimes it is better to keep quiet and let others think you are a fool, than to open your mouth and prove them right.

hey this is really good info,
quick question. from reading it, i think upgrading my head unit is the way to go for me but here is the problem:

i changed it from the factory location in my ssl to below the temp controls, this is so that my gauges are higher up. i also want the flip up units soooo is this possible? reason why i'm asking is because i think i'll have some problems opening and closing it

Yes, I really doubt there is room between the shifter and the console for that. Get an Orbital double DIN kit. Get it now as they may not be making them anymore.
Or at least get the heater to lower hole relocation part and whatever upper dual din adapter you like.

It is possible. There are pics on here somewhere of someone who has done it. It will depend on which head unit you get. On some, the screen comes out further than others when the screen is opening.

Reggie, Adam's right, it has been done many times. I'll have to do some research to see which units will work.

I just reported your post to the mods...so hopefully they'll see it.

Not sure if you did, but you can click the little red "triangle" thing on the left hand side of the screen below your avatar. Looks kind of like a road sign. If you click that, it allows you to contact a moderator directly about a post, or to change a title, etc.

I know nothing at all about car audio, I did install my headunit and alarm myself though...

My car is crazy loud and its hard to hear music while driving without blowing the stock POS speakers I have. Could anybody recommend a setup? And would/should I have it professionally installed or are there any plug-and-play speakers and sub that would work just right for me?
