Need advice on Polk Audio db6500 6.5" Components!!

There are a bunch of great reviews up on Crutchfield about these guys:

http://www.crutchfield.com/S-cOnCkCg...DB6500&g=52000

I had never really thought much about Polk Audio because I'd always just assumed they were some mediocre company, but I'm always willing to give companies a try assuming they have bumped up the quality of their products.

With that said... 84 good reviews on crutchfield... Does anyone have any bad things to say about this or can anyone recommend a better set of speakers for around 150?????

I need better sound in the Evo

Thanks,

-Aaron

I'm guessing you want components? Then @ $150 there isn't "much" choice, but those are all right.

Personally, I prefer MB Quart...http://cgi.ebay.com/BRAND-NEW-MB-QUA...QQcmdZViewItem

That is actually what I have, and with only 50 watts RMS pushing them they sound awesome!

Good luck!

Polk makes very good home and car speakers. Their "DB" line is their entry model. I would suggest going to Circuit City or Best Buy (I think one of them carries these speakers) and listen to them in person. See if you like they way they sound. Then, make sure you get a proper amplifier for them.

Well I just ordered the db6501s, which are the newer models for 140 shipped (would have been cheaper but I got fast shipping). I have a 4 channel amp to power them so it should sound pretty good.

I'll update this thread once they're in!

we have them at circuit city and for what they cost they sound really good the db line focuses more on the mid to lower end of the sound spectrum(so there rep says) and these new 6501's are actually 6 3/4 instead of 6 1/2 they also come with a spacer if needed to fit the car

I run these in my Evo, and I love them. They reproduce the sound as good, if not better than my diamond Audio components.
