The remote start should crank until it recognizes a valid tach signal. So if it was properly connected before, you shouldn't have any problems now.

i don't believe you had any problems, and if the tach signal doesn't pick up then you can always go with voltage sensing and program the crank time. all you have to do is time your crank and program the remote starter to the same time or a bit more.

BTW, which EMS do you have? AEM?

AEM would probably take 5 cranks which would time to about 3 seconds.

sorry for the late reply but you can set the crank time. I would set the vehicle to voltage sensing and set the crank time to about 3 seconds. That should give the system enough time to crank over and start. Keep in mind, during the colder months, crank time may or may not be longer....i have never really tried one on an AEM but it shouldn't be different.

Do it the right way and go with tach sense. Voltage is nice if you are lazy and don't want to remove the cluster or hit an injector.

Difference is, voltage cranks for a programmed ammount of time, IE 3 seconds.
Tach sense, cranks till it starts. Just be careful if your car is heavily modded and won't crank over if you don't prime the car before you start, otherwise it will keep cranking.
