Alpine Power Pack

Right now I have the stock speakers running off an Alpine 9857 Head Unit. I am looking to add a bit more clarity and power to my system so that it sounds good even with all the windows down (A/C doesn't work )

I stumbled upon this Alpine Power Pack when looking for 4 channel amps. It just plugs right into the harness on 1 end and the stereo on the other and bumps the system from 18W RMS x 4 to 45W RMS.

http://www.crutchfield.com/p_500KTP4...tp=35782&avf=N

My question is, will this be too much for the stock speakers to handle? Will it sound worse? I will eventually upgrade the speakers; should I hold off on this until then? I know the stock speakers are 15W RMS but I've been searching around on here and it seems like most people say putting an Amp on should go before speakers. Am I maxed out on the stockers right now with just a head unit? Doesn't seem like it but just want to be sure before I spend $120.

Thanks

GET IT!!

I have the stock speakers and was really disappointed in the Alpine that I put in my car. After I added the power pack it is night and day. The stock speakers handle the power very well. I even put in some polk dbs, then some alpine dddrives but ended up putting the stockers back in till I get my sub in. The stock speakers put out more low end bass than anything else I tried. (have a lot of speakers laying around my garage)

I have been into car audio for 15 years so know the ropes pretty well.

A lot of people see it and wonder if it's worth the money. At my store, where I am an MECP installer, I put this on display but put the speakers behind the wood of the display pod. I have customers listen to another set up, then I have them check out the power pack. After they say how much better it sounds I inform them that the speakers they are actually hearing are behind the wood.lol
I put this in my pos Honda as well. It's awesome.

yes

Compatibility: The KTP-445 connects to any 2005 and newer Alpine headunit that has a black power harness. Please check with your Crutchfield Product Advisor to confirm compatibility.

It is a great product. And then you will have more power down the road to upgrade your speakers.

Don't bother unless you plan on adding a sub

I read that the Alpine Power Pack requires the audio system to be rated at 15 amps, I thought ours was rated at 10 amps. Is this not true?

Where are you guys mounting this unit? I would presume it has to be mounted behind the head unit??
