someone has to be able to help here..
2 days ago i install a standard alarm and keyless entry into my VIII, i consider myself to be very mechanically inclined especially with this type of install, i've installed alarms, remote starts and stereos into most of my family and friends vehicles for years now and never had a problem.. for some reason after this install the srs light is still on and i have tripple checked all my connections and plugs around my connections.. i used t-taps so there were no wires cut at any time.. i am cluless and ocd about dash lights!! so please if you have the slightest idea or suggestion how i might fix this light ..or.. if someone could tell me which connector (s) or wire harnesses to look at would be most helpful thanks guys.. hope i get some answers.

Well, if you send me pics of some of your connections, I might be able to help. Sorry, I'm a visual person when it comes to alarms. One thing that I will say is that t-taps, and s-locs, are not your friends when it comes to installs. A lot of people use them, but a common problem with them is that they break the wires. Some people may disagree, but it's been a big deal at the three different install shops I've worked at.
apparently i did nothing but trip the srs light.. which the dealership has to clear... for 65 dollars of my American currency.. thanks but no thanks i'll deal with the light.
t-taps and s-locs are the worst connection you could possibly make besides twisting them together and taping them. Go back and solder all of your connections and next time this will not happen. If you tripped the SRS light while doing the install, odds are it's going to come back again because of the way something was connected.
I had a similar issue in '05 a month after I bought mine and had alarm and remote start installed. Dealer told me to 'HAVE THAT STUFF DISCONNECTED' since that was obviously the problem. Had my installer disconnect the power, fuses and backup power. Went back to the dealer, they cleared the code at no cost to me. My installer reconnected everything and I have had no problems since then.
