Tweeters that mount in the stock location?

I'm interested in upgrading the front component speakers in my 06 MR. I'd prefer to avoid hacking up my A pillars though. Do any of you know of component speakers or even just tweeters that mount to the stock mounting location? I've been poking around and have not been able to find anything pertinent.

I have MB Quartz all around and the tweeters fit in the stock location up front...in the rears they are mounted on the speakers.

Look at Crutchfield.com they should give you a few brands that fit stock location.

I have an 03 Evo 8.

I've already been there. All indicate that the tweeters would require custom mounting. I'm simply looking for models that are already known to fit.

How do you like yours? Do you have a model number?

Also, is it a safe assumption that you are running an amp?

I like them a lot. They sound great and fit great behind the stock a-pillar.

Yes, I do have an amp. Necessary to enjoy their full potentials.

I have the JL audio 650 component set in my evo. The tweeter is located behind the stock pillar. Check my SIG for the full model number. JL is pricey but the sound is awesome.

I went through the same thing when I gutted my RF system. I gave up and took a chance on some nice focal components. It took a little work but got them to mount up pretty easily in the stock location. I would say, imo, don't let the fitment dictate your choice. Get what you want! Most likely, you wont have too much trouble making them work in that OE location.
