Idle fine, reset ECU and now CRAP!

Well i have a aem short ram and a greddy type S vented. It was previously vented w/ no problem, never turned off on me. Now today, i reset the ECU and now its ****!!! every time i stop or put the car in neutral, it turns off every time. im sure the ecu has to get used to it, but how long does it usually take and what procedures do i have to go thru to ensure it goes back to what it was previously. I know the greddytype S isnt meant for venting but i had it vented previously and it ran better than when i had it recirc.

actually, its not the fact that the greddy isnt ment for vta, its that the evo itself isnt meant for vta. though some members have been fine with it, a lot have had a lot of problems. i have a greddy type s, recirced and with single spring mod, and its loud enough and no idling issues at all. i would recomend, as prolly most would, to just recirc it, and ur problems will go away

the thing is when i do re-circ it brings problems more than take it away.. it was recirc for about 7-8 months and it had issues once in a while. It was then vented, and at first had idle issues but then got used to it. I resested the ecu today (still vented) and it would turn off everytime it was at idle. Its been about 5-6 hours and now its pretty ok. turned off once on me. What kind of problems will vta bring in the long run?

well im not to knowlogable in all the technical terms and stuff, but if i remember correctly, with a MAS and VTA ur screwing with ur air fuel mix, big time. the ecu is antisipating the air coming back into the engine, so the fuel is tuned that way, but when it doesnt get that air.. .well u can figure it out, lol. stuff like that, no big stuff. i personally, dont know if its proven, think vta adds to lag, but thats just me.

Personally I would reinstall the stock bov reset the ecu and check if the problem still occurs. I t sounds as if you are having issues w/ the greddy bov. There are afew members out here that had problems w/aftermarket bov even while they were recirculating.

well ill prob just recirc then...well another question, my bov is vta right now and it runs fine (ill prob recirc anyway), but whenever i turn the ac on, it will die everytime at a stop or when rolling in neutral.

the ac puts more load on the engine and tends to make the car run a bit worse with it on... even the stock bpv bogs down a bit a times with the AC on.... running the type-s VTA is whats causing it to stall

so if i am recirc the greddy bov the chances of the car dying is less likely correct? Also i am idle at around 900rpm, is this normal for an aftermarket bov?
