Question 1st gear to 2nd??

Ok here is the deal. When i shift from 1st to 2nd about 70% of the time i get a loud clunk sound when i put the clutch in.Second thing is that when also shifting in the same gears when i put the clutch in to shift to second the gear feels like it wants to pop back out when i engage the clutch, i can feel it also in my hand when i shift. My only guess is that the cable linkage might be out of place. I put it in reverse and back to first gear and shift and it does not do it but mins later it does it again. The weird thing is that it does not do it when shifting form 1st to 2nd when turning in a curve only does it on a straight line when driving. Anyone have the same isssue? Need some help. Thanks

try getting the B&M short shifter? I don't know if it'll help your problem though. I think the Evo shifting is just kind of... not too precise

I just installed my B&M Short Shifter and bushings kit. It feels awesome and you definitely notice a difference in shifting.

However, I'm having the same problem you're having, Evil, shifting into 1st gear. It doesn't engage unless I firmly hold the shifter at 1st gear. If I just shift and let go and release the clutch, it'll pop out and have that gear-grinding noise; and yes, I feel it pop out in my hand also if I don't hold it firmly as well.

If anyone has any ideas about what could be wrong, please let me know. I'm sure the installation was correct. Should I bring it to my dealer ? Any advice is appreciated.

Dude I have the same problem! I have no idea why it does this, when i shift coming out of 1st into 2nd it's a loud clunk that sounds like it was popping itself out of gear. It doesn't happen to me as much as yours it sounds like but it is annoying, I would love to find out what it is. I wish i had more info!

It feels like something is not alligned properly, dont know if its the clutch because it feels like it wants to pop out when i put the clutch in. Im thinking maybe the linkage?? Need some advice!!!

it sounds like the same thing i used to experience... basically, you're in first gear... "vrooooom", RPMs go up, you push the clutch in to switch gears and then "DUNK".

does that sound about right?
