RPM raise between shifts
Anyone on this thread that has this problem live near Norfolk, VA? I'd really like to ride in their car to see what the hell is going on. Then if we could switch drivers (I drive yours and see if it does it with me driving, then you drive mine and see if you can get mine - which doesn't ever do it - to do the same).
Anyone?
I'll also be passing through Nashville, TN and over in Western KY mid December.

Ok, 05 MR w/2300 miles, completely stock, and I'm having this problem. The RPM's don't rise so much as when I'm in boost and let of the gas, it's like the throttle sticks for a bit b/c the RPM's don't drop right away... it's gettin on my nerves. Ideas/Suggestions? TIA
yea, it happens only when im boostig. if i am not boosting then it doesn't happen. feels like throttle cable or throttle body plate is sticking but i checked it and it seems fine. im starting to think it might be an issue with boost (boost solenoid??)
ONE THING IS FOR SURE, ITS NOT DRIVER ERROR.

Neither of my Evo's have done it, except for the rare times that I have goofed and not gotten completely off the throttle before the clutch started to go down.
I don't know what to say, guys. If the other advice I have given isn't working, then maybe you should find another Evo driver in the area that isn't having the problem and switch out driving each other's cars for a while, trying to reproduce the problem.
That's the only thing I can think of for now, especially since none of the tuners out there have even remotely addressed this problem.

Dude it is not driver error...And no i dont think its boost solenoid either, I am running off of a MBC.

You live in TN? I will be driving through there (from east to west TN on I-40) around Dec. 18th. Wanna meet up and drive each other's cars and see if we can get to the bottom of this?
I'm not scolding people for making driving mistakes, so stop acting like I am.
i just recently tried something. I would lift my entire right leg up until my knee hit the steering wheel, (not hard, just enough to know my foot is off the gas) and then I would clutch in. I noticed that if I clutch in at WOT before redline then rpm raise is still there, but only ~500rpm. If I drive at partial throttle, and clutch in before redline the rpm jump was much more substantial (~ 1250rpm). It is obviously not the bov, because I can hear it release at >=10in/Hg. And I can vouch that it's not the boost solenoid too because I have my AEM controlling boost with a GM solenoid. Stock clutch though...

hey guys. i remember reading a thread where someone said the car (stock i think) seemed to pull stronger at ~1/2 throttle as opposed to WOT. can this be related to what en1gma19 said? i'm gonna try this tonight when i drive home from work, if i dont forget.
It never happens to me unless I'm shifting over 5,000rpm. My 03 didn't do it at all. I'm lost.
And I know it's not a sticking butterfly in the throttle body. It only has 600 miles on it.
