Evo engine into a rear drive car..
LOL Someone suggested a PT Cruiser.. Since the 420a derived motor is actually oriented the same as ours, and the Engine mounts look to be similar..
LOL I guess an omni is a possibility, I've seen Colts and Precis conversions..
I'm trying to find the most cost effective platform..
Kinda sounds like that opel might work best since most of the hard work has already been completed.. I'll have to talk to you about this soon..

Shoot me a PM and come check out the car. This project done right has huge potential. The car ran 9.20's with a very mild BB (maybe 500 HP). Now figure the weight difference between a 427 and a 4G63. My guess is about 200 lbs lighter! You are right that the hard work has been done, but it is still a signifigant project but at least you are not trying to make different OEM parts fit together. Putting a 4 cylinder where a Big Block once sat is easy fabrication compared to an RX7 swap or (Omni LOL). While it is a drag car it does have functioning doors and a real dash board. A prostreet conversion would involve an interior, ditching the huge hood scope, making funtional headlights, and converting to 5 speed. Luckily I have a parts car for all of these items. Hearing about the Malibu, it sounds like you are capable of most the the fabrication required. This would be one bad ***, very unique car!
