The Ti turbine wheel is the same as the Iconnel version found on all OEM turbos.

For anyone interested we have the Standard TDO5H-16G, 10.5 turbine housing with the lightweight turbine wheel for $975. This turbo can be upgraded to the 20G later if you want to or you can just have this much faster spooling turbo with more top end power now.

This turbine wheel is a factory built Mitsubishi part, so the strenght I am going to have to guess is no issue at all.

I'm sorry ... my ignorance is going to get the best of me.

I read an article about 6 mo. ago somewhere (referenced from this site) about the titanium turbine wheels needing lots of good octane care. My impression was titanium, as strong as it is, isn't as elastic as enkenel / steel (sp?) ... so the turbo operating paramaters have to be well taken care of. Some, perhaps early, titanium turbines were known to break.

Knowing that Mitsu. builds a LOT of turbos, I don't doubt their engineering, I'm mainly curious right now.

Thanks,

jcnel.

I know you might have said this already, but is the compressor cover machined in any way to fit the new 20G compressor wheel?

Actually titanium is considerably more elastic than steel.

Ever ridden a titanium mountain bike? They are considerably more flexible than ones made from cro-moly.

Jack,

It'll have to be machined. Here are the specs of the 20G wheel:

Inducer: 2.070in
Exducer: 2.680in

Turbine wheel is still a Td05H wheel, just made of titanium/aluminide material which will make it about 30% lighter than the stock wheel.

Compressor cover has to be machined to match the 20G compressor wheel.

Export cost is nothing extra, just the shipping to where you are.

The white RS is going on the dyno starting today in bone stock form. Going to start from scratch on it and be posting up all new dyno sheets and such on our website. From stock to hella crazy stock appearing.

Some of the testing is going to be held up as I am going to be performing flashes for each and every staged upgrade including the economy stage with Al From Dyno Flash.

Hmm, this looks to be very exciting. One question though. It seems as if the old stock turbo replacement using the 20G wheel didn't work out well when you guys tested it. I assume that you guys have changed some things in order to alleviate that problem?
