HKS SSQ BOV Adjustment???

I installed the BOV and it flutters horribly. At anything from 2psig to 10 psi it flutters about 4-5 times. At 17-19 psi it flutters once then relieves all pressure. I read about an adjustment screw on the back of it which mine doesnt have. Anyone know what the deal is?

There is nothing on the back. I have had one before and know exactly where it would be. Its not there Its just a full aluminum cover with the 8-10 allen screws holding it on with one vacuum nipple. I just got this one very recently. Other than there not being the screw it is identical to all others i have seen or owned. Anyone?

They might have taken it off because you wern't suppostue touch that screw, it doesn't adjust the bov at all.

no need to get fiesty ,maybe sleet is right maybe they removed it, its not used to adjust for our cars anyway, your not supposed to touch it (or thats what they told me, i asked the same question before)

The screw/bolt was used to adjust it only if it's leaking boost. It'll only make it stiffer not softer and it will always flutter. I even changed the spring in mine to a softer one and it still flutters.

There is nothing wrong with the HKS unit. The ssqv flutters... period.

Correct. Maybe HKS removed the screw b/c we are not supposed to touch it...

Here is the letter I received from them a long time ago concerning the HKS BOV and the flutter.

How bad is this valve supposed to flutter though? Mine acts the same way, fluttering rediculous amounts at virtually any boost level. Under WOT, I have the same thing, it will blow off and then have a flutter to it by the end, its awful. My two friends both have the same valve on their supras and it simply just blows off, without any form of flutter under even extremely mild boost levels, 2-3psi or so. I just dont get it.

I don't know of too many cars that run "good" with that bov that were using the stock maf. I had it on my car and it never worked right, recirculating or venting. You might want to think about a different valve.

The bov flutters, it's a "feature". You aren't supposed to adjust the screw on the back anyway, I don't know why they put it there.
