I've seen 1500+(F) while on the interstate...probably 1550ish, never over 1600, but I've seen in EGT posts of people hitting 1600+ if I recall correctly

Defi D EGT

The EGT sensor should be installed after the cylinder head and close to turbo but in front of it. Is that case on tuned EVO you should see highest EGT close to 850C (1560F).
So when I see 600 or 700 this should be wrong istallation.
But I wanted to know, if anybody has higher EGT.

Agreed with Eugene. Many people put them in dp's and what not. From all the racing I've been involved with, you want it pretty dern close to the cyl head (couple inches.) Much after that, readings tend to be much less reliable. With that said, I've been to a couple shops that install them in the dp...but I'm not a fan of that. One of the guys we raced with blew a few engines because he mounted the EGT too far away and was getting inaccurate (low) readings. I'm sure there are people that will disagree with this, so go for it, but mine is just far enough away that I had to have a little notch removed from the heat shield, but close enough that I couldn't drill a hole in it.
