Yeah, a couple of buddies and I just tackled an ebay 02 housing install. PITA, but well worth it. Spool-up is earlier and the butt dyno tells me there was a gain....havent really let her go yet to feel what the top-end fells like.

Great write-up man, looking to do the same mods in the future. On a scale of 1-10 what was the difficulty? And anybody know where to get a 10.5 hot side?

If I were to take my stock '03 hotside and port & polish it, would I get a noticeable difference? I can't seem to find anyone selling the 10.5

my car is stock 'cept for test pipe, lower intercooler pipe, boost controller and a flash.

Old thread, but very useful. Thanks for the write up. I did mine yesterday. It took me a good portion of the day, but I always go real slowly and carefully. I installed a ported manifold, 10.5 hotside, and Titek O2 housing at the same time. Definately worth it.

I'm in the middle of this install, everything going rather well, except!!

When i put the new 10.5 back onto the turbo, i noticed that where the outlets meet, where the V band clamp goes over them....there is a little metal nub, that sticks out on the turbine housing. So i figured, "Ok, so there has to be a tiny hole for that on the turbo"..but there isn't. There is just another little metal peg in the same opposing spot on the turbo. So i'm wondering now if anyone else has encountered this? I'm guessing that maybe the peg corroded into the turbo and pulled out of the old hotside. I'm just slowly slightly drilling it out now, so the new 10.5 can fit in and stay in place.

I was just curious if anyone else encountered such a problem?

Start all the bolts in, then snug them down with your fingers, then start to tighten them all up so the manifold and turbine housing are flush. Then torque all bolts. Nice and easy.

Awsome , awsome write up great job.

For all you DIY make sure to get yourself a good penetrating liquid for those hard bolts (Liquid wrench) and i cant stress this enough always put on some anti seize on the studs, bolts, etc.

Just to clarify the two studs above can be replaced with 2 bolts instead right? So 4 bolts will be used to attach the turbine housing -> exhaust manifold?

Basically

Anybody know the specification for the MN119783 BOLT <-- It's M10 1.25 pitch, but what's the length?

Yes, you can replace the 2 studs w/ bolts. I would just get the OE bolts. They are some special high heat application bolts. I wouldn't want to use something from a hardware store.
