Hard shift into 2nd???

Is this common with the Evo? Every time I get on the gas from 1st, going into second is a b*^ch.

I'm afraid now that I've ruined 2nd gear. How can I tell? Just driving normally the car shifts great, but I have to be really careful @ higher speeds going into 2nd.

Would having the fluid changed make a difference?

i have heard it is common......mine does it at high rpms, but if i pull the shifter all the way to the left when going from 1-2 it seems to help it out

Take it to the dealer - they have new synchros. Warrenty repair. I have to force stick into second when it's cold. Better when warm.

you have to let the tranny fluid warm up and become more viscous before heavy shifting...

mine did that too before I changed the tranny fluid. After, anytime I shift after 4K rpm it practically kicks it into second no grind...its eeeerie.

The dealer would probably void your warranty
