well if you do.. pull the 2 bolts off the slave cylinder, on the trans, pull the boot and rod off, put the new rod in the boot, grease the end that goes on the release rod, and assemble back on.. as far as cluthch adj. that i cant tell you what to do as every car is diff... most likely youll have to adj. the rod under the dash, turn it in towards the firewall...

My Exedy Hyper Single clutch is not disengaging. As a result the car starts shaking. Thats why I figured I would try the clutch extender rod. If not I'll just get an ACT.

I have to try something my clutch around 3k rpms in 5th gear starts shaking the whole car. It does not fully disengage. I have heard this is a common problem with Exedy's. Do u have any better ideas?

I have had the exedy twin metallic, and now have the exedy triple carbon, and dont have the problem you are talking about. I did buy the extender-rod but never put it in, ask Eric at AMS or MattGold. they are WORTHLESS! I hit mine over to my neighbors yard with an 8 Iron.... I know he "found" it, as I heard him run it over with his lawnmower! Bleed the system 2X. are you using the weapon R engine dampner? as this will translate engine vibration throughout your cars "body". that would be in my neighbors yard soon also, but I'm not sure weather to use a 3 or 4 wood!! DONT WASTE YOUR TIME ON THE ROD. its something else, more list of mods please, we all will help solve your problem!

This was my simple fix after I had my Exedy twin disk installed. The car didn't want to go into gear, but after a little pedal adjust it works fine. I called AMS myself and they said they have never installed a clutch extender rod in any EVO they have installed a clutch into. I have one sitting on my work bench and I basically wasted my money. It actually looks too short to me.

just adjust your stock master cylinder rod. you need to be little below the mid point line. Or if you have problem dissengaging, move the point up a bit, so you'll have shorter rod inside the U bracket facing the driver.

Evo has a longer master cylinder rods then DSM's, so you shouldn't have problem with even triple carbon plate, and I've personally seen it drive without a problem.

extender rod is a waste of money, I think.
