Angry Too Hot

I was stuck in traffic yesterday and my car started to overheat. The needle quickly rose to the "H" on the temp gauge. I had to turn my heater on to cool down the car. This made it a long drive home (60 miles). When I got home, I checked the front and rear radiator fans and they both were working fine. I'm assuming my thermostat went.

Could all the extra power from my mods cause a thermostat to go prematurely?

Where can I get a new thermostat from?

Has this happend to anybody else?

P.S.

Running the heater on high did a great job at maintaning the cars temparature.

MODS

GSC 264 Cams
HKS EVC IV Boost Controller (21 pounds)
PSI-FI Power Pak (piggy back ecu)
10 pound battery
AEM wideband
K&N intake
3"TBE

Well, since we have no idea what your mods are, I'd say it's hard to guess

Sounds like that fan switch issue we've been hearing about??

There is a recall for the relay that controls the fan. The dealer will fix it for free if that is what is wrong.

They canceled my warranty a while back. Do you think they will still perform the recall?

This is a recall. They are legally bound to fix it even after 20 years, assuming . don't go out of business

I haven't brought mine in for this since most of the tech are idiots and I don't want them touching the car.
