The stutter you guys are talking about is it while your pressing the gas -- or when you let off??

I've had this problem for a while now.. Im on the gas very lightly.. and i let off.. the car studdors and I notice the wideband showing a very rich. I guess this could be surge but I'm really not sure.. been getting the P0300 a lot more after my custom tune.

So for once and for all, is the C-Reader that Harbor Freight sells going to work with my 03 Evo?

let me ask you guys a question. when you get this code, does your car break up??? almost like you had a plug, or bad spark plug wire??? or do you just get the code and the car runs fine??? i can almost hear my car popping from the exhaust. LMK

I don't notice anything at all... In fact it normal happens while idle, coasting (car out of gear), and very light throttle

Seems like it depends on your car.

My car will stutter and spit forever until I release the throttle. My misfire condition only happens while driving and never at idle. It can happen under constant throttle or increasing (accelerating).

Hwang and Webguy, I see both of you have the Creader and are satsified with it. Is there a certain model # that we should get?

I know Webguy you said you got 2, one with the US instructions didn't work, and the one with Japanese and other languages did. Is there a model # distinguishing the 2?

So with the Creader plugged in, will the SES light come and then when it clears it, will the SES light go off again? Is the P0300 the code it stops, like othe codes can go through?

I think Vishnu's struggled with identifying and acquiring the right CReader II model - might ask them.

Good luck NOLIMITMOTORS! Every time I think I have it licked it eventually comes back. *Shrug*

... and from a prior post in this thread: "I went with the CReader. I used a velcro strip and screwed it into the dash using the screw that holds the bottom of the interior panel under the wheel on the right."

So do you think it the new plug wires also fixed the P0300 code?

I will verify that the Creader works perfectly for patching the P0300 on my '03 as well. Same problems as listed in the first post, have now been patched with this device.
