On another note, I don't see how 315whp is "crap" or "bad" for those mods. I'd like to see how many other 03/04s there are out there with 315whp on only a TBE/MBC. On an 05, those whp would be about right for those mods on an aggressive tune, though. How much better is the WR supposed to be than the 05 turbo at pump gas boost levels?

Either the car was weak or broken - e.g. boost leak (which is my opinion) - OR - the turbo is not much stronger than stock at 23 psi. While the turbo may make more power with more boost, I have not been able to determine that yet.
It is regratable that it was too late in the day to do a boost leak and compression test as they would have resolved some unanswered questions.

nice vid clips.
yah, people are quick to bash. They don't say anything about the dyno that gained 50whp peak, but the one on the fubared car they blame on the turbo.
weaksauce if you ask me. i can't wait for some results on a well-operating car!

Al can you answer the question of why the flash may not be able to tackle this turbo like someof the larger turbos? seems no one is getting positive results with this and a flash while others running EMS are claiming this is the gods gift to the evo community
3 Wr cars will be on the same dyno in Austin on the 30th. My car will be the only one running a fash, and there will be several stock turbo'd cars to compare it to. I'm sure we will make a seperate thread with all of the results...

Well not every car will show the same numbers such as Switzers. Tuners and shops have the resources and time to get that extra inch of performance out of a car. It isnt necessarily a real world figure for the average car.

Isn't there a Vishnu thread you need to post on.
Edit: I would also suggest that if Al thought there were any dangers with the tune, he would have made adjustments.

Now back to my two deleted posts, why did al say the tune was spot on then later say it was too aggressive and quit deleting my posts. This is a very simple question and the people want to know.

Spot on to me means a nice flat dyno sheet as shown in the chart I posted with total absense of any timing being pulled from knock activity.
Agressive means no margin of error left - at the edge of what is acceptable.
I personally would not have left the tune in that state - but - the tune was done properly and "spot on"
Its a matter of tuner judgement as to how much meat to leave on the table - no right or wrong bright line rules.

is it strictly removing The MAF and switching to speed density?

I just wanted to say that I have no bias or incentive either way onm the WR turbo
I would be all too happy if this turbo was an amazing product - heaven knows if there was a great turbo available as a bolt on a lot more guys would need reflashes
The results of this test today are NOT CONCLUSIVE about anything
In order to have a accurate scientific test you need controls and have to have a level playing field. Here the car itself was not wrenched well and we did not have time to go over it. Given that you muct take the results posted with a grain of salt.
The data shown is simply data to review. Next week I have two others cars which I am personally tunning and which i will be able to test if they have a problem. At that point I will be able to formulate a recomendation.
