Compression on an evo.

How many of you have done a compression test on your evo? I'm looking into buying one and want to do the test before I buy. What numbers should I be looking for?

i just did mine a few weeks ago, 180/180/180/172. I think the factory specs are >165. Also there are posts here that mention that the difference in tthe 4 cylinders not more than..(10-15%)...? Do a quick search.

btw i had a 350z track too, got rid of it for the evo after 6 months

the compression gauges are not calibrated to a reference, so as long as they read in the ball park and all compression is pretty much even all across the 4 cylinders, you will be ok.

Compression will vary from Hot to Cold. (engine temp)
Normally around 170 is good.
BUT even with good compression it doesn't mean the engine is healthy...
Keep that in mind

My mechanic got all 140s across the board. When he performed a leak down test, all the cylinders were 5% except the 4th @ 12%.
