weird stuff happening ????

hey whats up guys i thought i would ask about these 2 things that have come up with my 05 evo 2900 miles

first thing is i hear a tap over the spark plug cover area when i first start up and gets a little softer but its still there after getting to normal temp.

next i checked oil today and after sitting all night it was at the low mark and now after gettting it to temp its below the low mark...

then the other thing i noticed was a watery black liquid dripping out between the midpipe and the muffler at the connection....what the is going on?

Thanks

Chris

Your transfer case is leaking. The seal on it isn't good, and Many people have to get them replaced. The noise might me the lid clinking around. Take it to mitsu. Same thing happened to me.

dont worry about any of it all normal. it loses a little oil (burn off) completely normal. the water is condensation. and the tap is normal. Welcome to the wonderful world of EVO.

if you have cams it may be your lifters tapping.

i wouldnt sweat it at all. just drive it like normal and dont worry. all 4g63's tap. its normal, especially if you have cams or gears, they all burn oil. dont worry about it. if the liquid is not oil or tranny fluid (like I said) i think its condensation. Its ok. business as usual.

Between mid-pipe and muffler is rear of the car. I can only guess you have an exhaust leak and it's condensation dripping out.

I agree it sounds like condensation coming out of a leak in your exhaust. By the way your car should not burn oil. I have 40,000 on my 03 and the oil level never changes between oil changes. The tapping is most likely your lifters. The oil level will change when you warm up the car. Over night the oil all collects at the bottom of your pan. If you are below low add some oil. Just my 2 cents.
