Best Intake for the 05 Evo?

I got my evo around a month ago and i thought of putting some parts on it. First i wanted to put an intake on. For those of you that have them, which intake do you think give the best numbers for the evo.. best numbers that have been proven?
I would appreciate some answers. Thanx you!

they all pretty much give you the same, just cost different.. but a intake will not give a big advantage till you get tuned, cause it will cause the m.a.f. to get the wrong readings.. and that needs to adj.

I wish you would do a search before asking questions that have been asnwered a billion times. As you were told above, an open filter intake on the EVO w/o a re-flash of the ECU or a piggy back ECU or a standalone tune will make you LOSE power. The MAF will get erratic readings probably because of the proximity of the MAF to the open element filter. So stay stock or simply get a drop in filter.

theres a lot of opinions on what "the BEST intake" is, but for the most part a full intake replacement ( charge pipe w/ open filter) will achieve about the same hp. same goes for a drop in. A TUNE will help the most. of course if your looking for the "sound" then an open element filter will be louder. (HKS RS, AEM, HELIX) but some people have had problems w/ open element filters. (throwing off MAF) but thats just SOME people. others will suggest to stay w/ the stock air box and just add a drop in filter. (hks, works, k&n) "sound" will not be as loud but performance is still good. havent heard of a problem from anyone w/ just a drop in. and theres the "in between" which a lot of people also have done w/ no problems reported whatsoever. Change the intake charge pipe to something like the HKS RS but keep the stock airbox w/ a nice drop in filter. theres a couple companys that make a replica of the HKS charge pipe and you can bolt it up to the OEM air box......hopefully this should save a lot of people arguing over what is "better" oh and i forgot, some people will suggest "stick with the stock air box period"

Keep the stock intake, just get a drop-in filter. Save your $$ for better mods.
