Alcohol Injection

I can't find anywhere that says at what point it is OK to install alcohol injection. Is it ok to install it with only tbe, intake, fuel pump, and boost control. Do you need cams to benefit from it? What about new head studs? I am trying to figure out when it would be a good time to install it, but I don't want to hurt my car. It's a daily driver, and it has to get me to school and work reliably. Also, I read about a lot of people using windshield wiper fluid, and am wondering if that is what is best to use? I hope so, because that stuff is pretty cheap.

Thanks

I would get the headstuds definately because the whole point of the alcohol injection is so you can run more boost on pump gas. I did my kit before cams and ran the time you see in my signiture. It's an 03, 9.8 hotside, and stock cams. I was pretty happy with the results.

12.2, that's pretty impressive. Did you install the head studs or did you pay someone? If you installed them, how long did it take, if not, how much did it cost? How much boost were you running?

Thanks

I did the headstuds with a friend. Took about two hours or so. We stopped to eat dinner. That time was at 25 lbs of boost.

IMHO the alky injection should be one of your priority mods if increasing boost. You will see tremendous gains on a stock car.
We have dyno results of 27 HP at stock boost levels. Just some A/F tuning

I am doing cams this week, and if I am a good boy I might get myself the alky kit for X-mas.

IMO you should also have custom tuning done when using alcohol. MAJOR gains come when running meth. As a matter of fact, in my particular instance, My car baselined with 319 hp and 321 tq (alky on, 24 psi, no tuning). When it was tuned, i topped out with 365 hp and 397 tq (30 psi). Oh, and head studs are a must if you dont want to change your head gasket.
