Misc. news from Buschur Racing....
First I apologize to those of you that I haven't gotten right back to on PM's, I should be caught up now.
This is just some things to get all of you caught up on what has been going on.
It has been very very very busy here at the shop. It seems with each tune I finish on the dyno the happy owner of the car sends over two more of his friends and so on...It is amazing to me that a year ago I said buying an AWD dyno was a waste of money. I guess I need to thank the other AWD dyno shop for motivating me into competition! haha To say the dyno is going great would be an understatement.
While our dyno is reading extremely low numbers the tunes are working so well that every car that has come off of it with a comparison sheet from another dyno or a track time has run better and faster.
We aren't turning out any 600+ whp cars that run mid elevens! EVO's making only 580 whp on this dyno are running 144 mph trap speeds!
On to other news.
Our black car is still having the rollcage put in it. Should be done and back to us anyday. When it is we will be putting the stock EVO gear ratio back in it and heading back to the track. Last time out the car ran 10.3 at 141 mph. This was with only 530 whp.
We drove Daniel's red EVO out the track on Friday night, it's an hour one way. Full of gas, full weight, radials, radio on and A/C on. At 27 psi of boost he made one pass and ran 10.9 at 131 mph.
We went to D42 to watch a car I recently tuned run. The car was built with a few of our parts (exhaust, intercooler and a few other small parts). The turbo kit was built by Ron Shearer who did a gorgeous job on the equal length header and kit. On straight 94 octane I tuned the car to 371 whp and on race gas at 30 psi of boost made 477 whp. The one and only pass Anthony (owner) made was an 11.6 at 124 mph. When they got to the track it was already late and we were heading out. The car was tuned on 118 octane but they showed up on 110. I pulled quite a bit of timing out of the map just so they could run the car. I expect to see very close to 130 mph trap speeds from this car when the other map is loaded back in. As a side note this is on a BONE STOCK SHORTBLOCK, HEAD, INTAKE MANIFOLD AND THROTTLE BODY. Very nice.
Threw my RS on the dyno for a short tuning session this week. First time it has been tuned on the dyno. At 25-26 psi of boost and race gas the 20G equipped RS made 361 whp. If it doesn't rain Monday I am hoping to see the car run 10's.
Customer stopped in with an EVO and a UTEC. I admit the car was weak when it came in, producing only 176 whp. UTEC was set on setting 1. It took me quite awhile and a phone call to remember how to move around the UTEC. When I finally remembered how to use the software the tuning went very quickly. Car was up 77 whp and 50+ ft lbs of torque when he left the shop very happy
The software wasn't as bad as I seemed to remember it and tuning went well. Next UTEC EVO will be a snap.
Keith's 2005 EVO that we are doing the Staged dyno build up on did not make it back on the dyno this week. Sorry Keith. This week I promise. Also forgot to post the dyno sheets from Stage 1 and 2, again, sorry, will do it this week.
Also will be testing the exact same car this week with a 2 liter vs. our stroker engine. Both engines built by us. Be interesting to see the differences a stroker can or can't make. Seat of the pants so far is the low end is quite a bit less with the 2.0 compared to our 2.2.
This is news that has been kept quite and is probably of little interest to most of you but........Mitsubishi contacted us early this year and asked if we would build them a 2006 Eclipse for SEMA. Well SEMA is a little over a month away and they finally called on Friday to let us know the car is ready and we can have it. It is going to be a mad rush to build this car in less than 30 days and present it at the SEMA show in Las Vegas! This is going to make us even more busy than we already are!! It is a great honor to have them ask us to do this. We will be building a complete product line for the car.
The 2006 EVO 9's will be out mid-October. The first BR330 EVO9 has already been ordered. Can't wait to get our hands on it and start tuning!
We built 2 more BR330's two weeks ago, these were EVO8's.
That's about it. Thanks for reading.

Congrats on the Mitsu. SEMA build!
Why did you guys choose to go back to the stock gearing? I'm finding it very hard to launch with such a tall gear myself. Although I love the gears for the highway.

Yes, we will be doing a turbo kit for the new Eclipse. We are getting the V6 model, want to do a nice single turbo kit for the car.
The gearing we had in the car let the car run more top end at lower RPM. Not ideal for drag racing.
