I'm not even certain 5 people have hit 11s on those mods yet, but we are still talking about the "cheapest possible way into the 11s," or at least I am.
I dont think any one has hit 11's w/o cams (yet)

well, i have run 4 12.0s with basically those mods. I mean, i have an xede...but the same thing could be achieved with an afc for a gung-ho race gas pull. Biggest advantage the xede has over the safc is the pump gas tuning. Gloves are off with 118octane.

I don't think it can be done without cams, and if you have a 6spd, i dunno what you can do...thats a sticky skitiation.

all it takes is letting the car get the exhaust out fast, lots of boost, and a tune....really.

ive made over 30 12.0-12.2 passes on the stock clutch...i don't even wanna hear that you can't do it on the stocker.

on all my 12.0s, i had **** for stock tires. really, no tread...one weekend removed from 170 miles on a 2.0 mile road course.

pretty close is right, but .15 of a second isn't easy to pick up when you are tuned and driving on the edge as he is.

I hope he does it, its gonna be tough though.

your title says 'cheapest way to 11s'...thats why what you put is wrong. without a doubt that SHOULD get you to 11s....but its def not even close to the cheapest.

3" downpipe-$225
testpipe with cutout on it-$125
boost controller-$80
safc-$250
10.5 hotside(if you dont have a 05)-$250
272 cams-$500
race gas-$30
tune or wideband o2-$300

total of $1760. can be cheaper if you buy used parts or if you just drop the exhaust behind the downpipe instead of buying a testpipe and cutout.
These are basically my mods ^ except the testpipe and hotside but add custom Dynoflash in addition to the SAFC and wideband. Once the temps are consistently in the 60s or below I'm heading out to the track to see if I can do it. If not, then I'll be adding those things I'm missing from this list. If not then, I'll be looking for a slightly bigger turbo.

I'm talking about a consistant car on pump gas. Not some lucky pass that takes the clutch with it.

I guess I should have said that to begin with.

yah, you should have said that. But, only difference really is race gas vs. alky. Should be able to do it with pump+alky instead of race gas, just costs more....

and again, the clutch doesn't go with it. with what i listed(plus the panel filter and fuel pump that i left out) should be 11.8 with good driver. Hell, i ran a 12.01 with over a 1.8 60'....an average driver can pull 1.70 short times, i did it the first time out with this car....and im not a pro by any means.

u forgot... take off all the seats. replace the heavy door, take off headlights, take off the wing, remove spare tires, strip down all your exterior and replace with a thin plastic car like cover then you might go into the 10s

When I had the cat-back, I did a 50/50 mix of 104 and 93oct while running 22psi solid in 4th en route to 12.2s.

I then added the DP/TP and ran a 50/50 mix of 116 and 93oct while running 23-24psi solid in 4th (still tapered to 20 at redline) en route to 12.1s.

I haven't ever run crazy boost beyond 25 like so many others do...

Yes, .15 is a HUGE jump. I'm not really missing anything on my current setup, so it will be hard to gain that much. The main hindrance is the stock rev limiter, but that will be remedied to some degree next week when Al comes to town, and I bite the bullet by getting it raised to 7800 (or 8000 maybe).

We'll see what happens tomorrow night, though, during test'n'tune. We're getting low 60-degree temps, and I can currently shift at any rpm, so we'll see what happens when I have straight 110oct instead of a 50/50 mix along with cool temps. I will still be limited by the stock gearing, but maybe I can make up a little ground due to the other factors.
