Before I bought my EVO I ran an 80hp shot of nitrous for over 3yrs on my daily driver and had no problems with it. I probably used over thirty 10lb bottles of it. The only people who didnt respect me because I was running nitrous were the people who had spent more money on their cars to still run slower times. People who put a turbo on their civic, spending way more cash than I, who still ran slower times. Also, I'am by no means an expert on nitrous but I did do my research before I bought it and had the car dyno'ed with a wideband as I increased the HP shot to make sure nothing was running lean and the right jets were being used for my application. People have told me that because I have a turbo its cheating beause their car is a N/A car and im sure anyone would agree thats just stupid. Same goes with nitrous..its not cheating, cheating is slashing the tires of the guy your about to race. Just my 2 cents. Oh, it was said earlier in the post that nitrous is by no means feasible for daily driving....I guess im proof that statement is wrong since I drove everyday for 3 years with it. I think people who want to jump on the "nitrous is bad" bandwagon should take some time to learn about it.

Edited by ME: not worth arguing opinion.

I see you have no fact filled response to my questions to back up your claims of nitrous being dangerous and not suitable for the everyday driver evo to use at the track. I brought fact and experience, you are perpetuating hearsay and internet myth.

If anyone has nitrous questions, feel free to PM me, I will help you if I can.

That truely is quite a shame. You must look down on people who upgrade their front mounts and run cold air intakes as well too then-- since they are meant to cool the intake charge as well.

Warrtalon seems to only be against nitrous because he himself will not use it.

I think everybody should be able to drop this argument and keep this thread (which has some useful info in it) going with positive information.

I think that nitrous is great on a turbo cars for many reasons.

-It cools down the charge air because of how freezing cold it is
-Gives you an instant surge of power that you cannot have with turbo alone (unless its pathetically undersized)
-Lets you achieve much more power over a stock turbo
-Only have to use it when you need it.

But there are also downfalls, like having the nitrous hooked up is illegal in every state I am aware of, possible inconsistencies, fear of damage>

But I think the biggie for most people is that as humans, our preconceived opinions (about nitrous this time) can dement our mental vision, and for many it is impossible to escape them.

Here are my plans for hitting 11's.....

ECU+
Wideband
Map sensor

Ecutout @ testpipe

Methanol/Water injection

Forge-BPV
-UNOS MBC
-W/G actuator with heavy spring

I believe once I give it a good tune with those mods I should see enough power to hit 11's........ Wheter my clutch agrees or not, only time will tell

btw, this LM-1 is kickass. do you know if i can run the 0-5v knock sensor and/or a map sensor to the RPM pickup?
I think you would need to use the Auxbox thingy for that. it will log all kind of ****. I will make a phone call to see if it is possible to maybe do a hack or something with the Rpm hookup.

Just talked to innovate you can use an external map sensor something like a 3bar GM Sensor would be perfect. If you PM me we can go over it a little more.

damn VP Import is like $25 a gallon. but the good thing is you can run as much timing as you want plus stupid boost and spray the hell out of the car. VP import is nuts its like 125+ or something crazy.

yes, I can see this being enough power to go 113-114. That would be a high 11's with a very good driver. The clutch will be the big unknown, no way to know untill it starts slipping. I definatly see 11.9 possible with that combo.

yeah, i spoke with them after i posted that. Its very posible to do. Also, i think vishnu has a knock sensor buffer that will change the knock sensor wavelengths into 0-5v readings, therefore i can log the knock sensor activity with the RPM pickup as well...

you guys going to the import showdown at reynolds next weekend?

I think it will be a good basis for going fast and am pretty excited to get going with it. The reason I chose those mods is because I must keep my warranty. My goal is to hit 120mph on the stock turbo, but without the addition of cams, cam gears, etc.... Thats going to be a tough one

I was just thinking a 200 shot of nitrous and you could do it in just one run. Then buy a new motor. Do it like Paul walker on the fast and the furious
