Did a search but no luck.

When I put it in first gear I get a loud whinning noise.Just started after racing a friend of mine.I always heard a little whin but now its 3 times as loud....

Any ideas?Im thinking I burned 1st gear up.

Like I said only first no other gears.

I had a similar issue, and according to Jon at Team Rip engineering, I cracked a tooth in first gear. Probably a similar case.

 

my car has made the same noise since the last time I went to the track. That was about 6 months ago or so, and its still doing fine.

 

its just the first gear supercharger.

 

either cracked tooth.. or broken t-case teeth

 

mine does the same since i was last at the track, you get used to it, i will take it in for work soon and to get that fixed.

 

you have a special evo with a supercharger

 

Its not the TC.It would do it all the time.Im thinkng first gear is bad some how.Think dealer will cover it? yea right wishful thinking

 

i would say yes and if they dont fight it, i am so tired of hearing about people fear of dealers, i used to be a dealership mechanic and i never saw this.

I just took it up there on Weds for the 3rd gear Syncro problem...denied.Rep drove it quote under normal driving conditions.No problems till after 4grand but I guess taking a motor to 4 grand is harsh driving conditions.
