Evodave's gt35r spoolup.... want big power with fast spoolup...come on in!

Ok.... well guys before i put the car away we ran a few 3rd gears pull and datalogged it with the AEM system . I wanted to post this since i have saw other threads addressing spoolup on gt35rs and people talking as a GT35r will roughly be the same in every situation. Well i am here to say that everything isn't created equal on turbo setups. I will have the logs up soon...btw this is with only roughly 9 degrees advanced timing at max (tuned by Tym switzer ) and 27-28 lbs of boost max and high 10s a/fs. Made 511 awhp on the awd dynojet at switzers (ran 11.1 at 129mph with 495 awhp and have made a max of 558 awhp on a banzai run but didn't run it on the road like that in fear of toasting my motor.
There are no secrets with this either.... no aids of any sort running pump gas and meth injection only. Stock motor besides cams and headbolts , stock intake manifold , stock throttle body, stock ignition system (1 step colder plugs only). If you are looking for the most complete package as far as turbo kits go with all the tricks in the book and such this Slickmotorsports turbo kit is THE way to go. Along with the great tuning from Switzer performance the results speak for themselves. Keep in mind this is 3rd gear (not 4th to load the motor more and make for slightly quicker spoolup yet).

3800 rpms 9lbs of boost
4000 rpms 14lbs of boost
4300 rpms 18lbs of boost
4400 rpms 21lbs of boost
4500 rpms 23lbs of boost
4600 rpms 24.6 lbs of boost
4700 rpms 25lbs of boost

Keep in mind that anything over 15 lbs of boost FLYS with this setup on my car.... i made over 330 awhp untuned at 12lbs of boost a long time ago

Does slickmotorsports have any pics or info up on this kit? It sounds like a pretty promising kit with 25 lbs at 4700 rpm. That makes for good transient response! Anywho, if you can give us some pricing, pics, availability or any other info on it that would be stellar!

with the 880/cc injectors whats your duty cycle at? Does it seem like that fuel pump is close to being maxed out. Im still wondering if the evo's can run the supra fuel pumps like the eclipses. Btw the rpm this turbo spools up at wouldnt be bad at all on the street. I know with my 3065 and my gear ratio on my gsx it wasnt bad at all for daily driving even though it spooled later than yours . These cars are amazing, stock motors going 10's and 11's .

Do you also have the .82 a/r housing like the others or are you running the .63 a/r?

I absolutely love this turbo kit.... its amazing teamed with good tuning and associated mods....

216-361-1150 call up Matt at the shop and talk to him about the kit....he is very busy so if he happens to not answer just simply leave a detailed message (let him know what your calling about and that you were referred by me).

i didn't feel the need for 280s.....car runs great and makes great power now.

i feel that the single pump and 880s will do almost 600awhp and trap 135-138mph before being maxed....that is running the ragged edge though...

the most timing the car runs is 9 degrees....i am not sure exactly where it is at on the curve...i just know thats not much at all for the power the car makes...

most people i saw and know of use the .63 a/r

Evodave,

nice results! I wish i could do the same set up, but elevation is killing me. im looking for the most powerful set up on pump and alky. on the 2.0 the 35r would spool 500rpm after it does at sea level. my other option is a 2.3, which would make it spool the same as a 2.0 at sea level. here is my question, how does your car feel on the street with this spool? what would you recommend in my situation? my other option is to go with a 3076r.

I would recommend going with this setup and then simply dealing with 500 rpm later spool (or around there) ....TRUST me that is still way sooner then lots of other kits spoolup not in that elevation.

Here are some links to other peoples setups ....

Dave are you going to stay on stock motor for a while? How high do you rev this motor? So you drive around everyday on over 500whp stock motor and it holds fine. Crazy.

nope...its getting built motor (still 2.0L) a slightly different exhaust manifold design , modded stock intake manifold, bigger throttle body and a twin fuel pump setup with 1000cc injectors along with a upgraded ignition system. I drive the car all the time with that much HP ..NEVER detune it or run anything other then meth injection and pump gas. Car is rock solid and FAST. Only thing i had issues with was my meth control box once and two stock front diffs...i got a ralliart unit in it now. BTW i rev the stocker to 8500 rpms all day...hehe. I know i am nuts...oh well.
