Rpm's raise in-between shifts?
I've had this problem almost since I can remember, never really till now do I want to figure out whats wrong. If Im on the thottle about halfway or more at higher rpms...I let off the throttle and push the clutch in to shift and the rpms tend to rasie 200-300 before they settle, it sometimes is a problem to grab gears at higher rpms. Ive always thought it was the stock clutch just giving out, but recently Ive had the exedy hd twin disk put in, and its doing the same thing. Im having some disengagement problems with the exedy right now, which Im told is adjustment, but I was wondering can this problem be anything but the clutch? Only mod I have that that would mess with anything is my aps valve( not sure if I had the same problem before the aps valve)...besdies that its just drop in filter, tbe, licp, mbc, and a flash.
thanks in advance, im hoping its not normal and an easy fix....otherwise I dont know what to do.

This is yet another problem I have had in the past. I was told by my mechanic (AHEM!) that it was because my throttle body butterfly wouldnt shut with the boost, and the remedy (it actually worked) is put a throttle cable spring on the top of the butterfly, you can figure it out, (ou want to have it close when you take your foot off the gas), so you will have to figure where to put the other end. This stopped my reving more when my foot came off the gas-pedal! Why did it happen? I havent got the clue. Actually, I looked under the hood a while ago, and the spring was broken off, and the problem hasn't returned. So I guess I dont need to take a picture of it, but rest assurred, I had the same problem as you!
Could be that your clutch master cylinder needs bleeding or fluid needs replacing. Wouldn't hurt to do this, and the manual recommends doing this very often. Could even be related to Toe Play Clearance on your clutch. Get all these checked.

Mine does it too, bone stock and with a new clutch. It can do it at 3500 RPM. Did it too with a WRX I owned a few years ago. Most likely is from the butterfly opening with the boost. Floor it at 3500 rpm, let off the gas completely and push the clutch in quickly rpms will jump. BOV not allowing enough air to vent? Clogged air filter not allowing air to flow out (with stock air box)?
ya mine does this too. i was on a mission to find the reason but mainly thought it was my lazy driving by not lifting off the gas fast enough but i guess not. the spring on the butterfly of the throttle body must be weak!
