Alky VS 95-96 Octane mix

I was just calculating what would be worth doing getting an Alky kit $500 or getting a drum with 110 Unleaded for 6.50Galon.

If I use race gas, I can mix 3 gallons to 11 or premium and will be around 95-96 octane (I used web race gas calculator)

What do you guys think can yield more power??? that’s the ultimate question.

( I am running stock turbo with 280's and AEM)

You won't make more power with 95-96 oct than being on alky. You could make more power with straight race fuel but the nice thing about alky is you only use it when you need it so you don't waste it on normal driving.

If you are running the AEM you can wire it up with safegards to give you even more protection if that is what you are worried about. I debated the same thing.

ok, would you share how to wire up the protection please.?

Also at what level of octane do you think the power with alky and gas become equal?

The Octane rating depends on what mixture you run. Straight methanol on top of C16 is like 130 something I believe. I am not sure whats the exact octane for doing like a 50/50 mix though but its more than the Octane boost that you benefit from. There are cooling properties as well.

Let me refrase. I meant what Octane on gas scale would approhimately equal benefit of alky powerwise.
For example: If I can run 26lb boost with alky and pump gas making 30HP extra HP.
Then what Octane do I put to make the same 30HP and 26lb boost?

Stock turbo and 280s cams.

Running alky with methanol is very similar to C16, a 50/50 mix is more like 110. Its not really exact though.

AEM EMS Protection with the SMC Alky kit. The Alky control kit hopes to be compatible with this protection hook soon.

D@mn bro. mikiblueeyes Asked for this in his post above, it is his thread. If he has the AEM he might as well use it but I was just giving the answer. Didn't mean to strike a nerve.
