My buddy runs a GT30r on a UTEC which is very similar in the way a reflash works. He is still running stock MAF with no problem as well.

It is definitely benefitial to go with speed density especially with a larger turbo I was just saying that my friend runs MAF still with no problem.

I was running a solid mid 11's @ 122mph on a Dynoflash and the GT30r. The car drove great and made some nice power.

There's definitely no problem in using flash-based tuning on the stock ECU with a GT30R or even GT35R. Sure, you'll get significantly more power with a stand-alone... especially when using speed density, however, EcuTek will do the job fine. Just make sure your tuner knows what he is doing and scales the injectors correctly.

I would only recommend a standalone if you were planning to run different race gas map but ECUtek would be a better choice if your car is daily driven.

Thanks,
Tom
