What turbo do you plan to use with the stroke? The 6.5 TME/stroker would be an unusual but interesting combo.
I am going to use the TME 6.5

Wow, so sorry about your situation. If I wasn't having money problems myself I wouldn't have any problems in sending you a donation. Yeah I realize that it does cost to play, and right now I can't afford to play, so I am stuck with my slow *** Audi. Still I appreciate you posting this, because it points out how careful people all need to be when it comes to tuning, selecting a tuner, and racing cars. If something doesn't feel right, then people should not hesitate to get the car checked out and make sure everything is running properly. The money it cost for careful maintenance pails in comparison to the cost of engine repairs or etc.

+1, its very easy to over-extend yourself with these cars. Come to think of it, the least amount of money I have seen put into any evo was at least $3k.

Was this the same race gas tune that was in the car from Englishtown?
What did you add that 2 gallons of C16 to?

I agree with you almost 100%. In my personal experience with Boost Solutions and a few other vendors I was basically hung out to dry after things went wrong.... The part I don't totally agree is "totally lack any understanding of the mechanical aspect". I have a very good grasp and understanding of the mechanical aspect of things, but I'm not a hands on tech.... My big mistake which is the same as others have made is that I was encouraged and promised with silver words by the vendor/tuner that I would get results beyond my wildest dreams and expectations.... Obviously, this was all BS and wishful thinking. Unfortunately there is no way to predict these sorts of things. All the reseach that you can do cannot prepare you for a self deluded con man who has a good base of fan boys singing their praises on the forums

Blown motors suck...But do you guys really know how much stress there is on a drive-train to make a 3200lbs car go 11's? The Evo does it so easily that we have all forgotten (or don't know) the load placed on the motor and drive-train. Yes, the tune was/could have been bad but when we take a 5/6 speed, 3200+lbs car to the strip, launch the crap out of it, shift it like we stole it, hit the rev limiter going thru the traps how can we not think at some point something is going to BUST. I have broke SO MANY PARTS on race motors (jet ski's, 426 hemi, small block mopars, dirt bike's, .21 ci nitro r/c car engines making 4hp and 38k rpm, just to name a few) that I have learned ANYTHING can and WILL break when pushed. Running a EVO in the 11's is PUSHING what the car can handle, why are guys shocked when something breaks?

I am not ripping on you Philly! I just feel there are way to many post about..."I blew my motor/trans/clutch" around here and everyone of them seems shocked it happened.

CARS GO FAST...PARTS BREAK!

If you're never allowed to race it again why not sell most of the mods for a slightly used stock block? No need to mess with a stroker, especially if you're in a financial crunch. At the very least sell the AEM and maybe the TME and just get a base mail flash. You'll still have a quick car that is more reliable and you won't have to try and figure out how to get the money to fix your Evo.

Come on man.

I have dozens of guys with so called "week end warrier" drag cars who drive them daily and to to the drag track and run 11's

Look at Paul a/k/a the Darth Vader Evo who goes drag racing, auto cross and road race and his car has nearly 60,000 miles on it - he runs 11.8 all day and night and never had any engine problems what so ever

Look at Warrtallon who goes a 12.000 without cams - daily driver - no problems

GOING FAST down the track and modifying your evo does not mean its going to blow up

With prudent tuning and proper modification selection your car can be very reliable and still go fast

If you choose to drive around in heaps of junk that is your business - but really not a productive suggestion to the individual in this thread who obviously loves his evo and wants to continue enjoying his car.
