My Engine Meltdown!!!!!!!!!
I was contacted by the tuner about the post I made. Seems he feels I was very fair. Glad everyone is happy.
I don't honestly wish to comment any further on this subject. What's done is done and we can all continue to second guess it but it won't go anywhere.

Sorry to be mean but come on.... This goes back to the whole thing that I personally think will start to happen. All these 11 second flashed cars (Maybe soon in the 10's?) are going to start blowing motors and start trashing vendors because thier high 10 or low 11 second car blew. Granted these people are probably not logging thier cars at all and dont know the basics of tuning anyways but they will blame the vendors anyways. An 11 second car is QUICK.... An AWD 4-cyl car making the power to make many 11 second passes will not last that long.... SOMETHING will give. Its just whether it happens to be the tranny, rear diff, engine, etc... I want people to watch... this is going to start happening alot. At least most DSMers know what they are attempting to do and know the inherent risks involved. Most of the Evo owners think they can have a high 10 or low 11 second car AND make sure it never breaks (And if it does they b1tch and whine about it).
On top of that, alot of these people try to screw anyone and everyone when thier Evo does break. "I would change it all back to stock and bring it to Mitsu." or "Your motor blew after you made a low 11 second pass?!?!? I know you dont have any conclusive logs and you rev your car to 8.5k grand but that stuff shouldnt matter! Your tuner SCREWED you."
Grow some ***** and own up to it. No matter how you look at it, you raced it. You blew it. I wouldnt blame anyone if my car grenades, tranny blows, etc... I race it, I know what I am doing and Im smart enough to KNOW that when bad **** happens I can either fix it or drive something else until I can. Why do you need all this money to fix the car? You cant buy a car for $300 to drive until you save up to fix it?!? Grow up.
ps: IF you really NEED some money to fix your car I will sell you a 1991 Astro Van for $400. It is also AWD if you absolutely need that.

i would say sorry but then seeing your donations crap thats just pathatic. We (all who race) know things like this may happen at any giving time, any i bet you just like everyone of us (mostly) beat the hell out of the car at the track to get the best times possible, so now you have to pay to play. Now if you cant pay to play and need to ask people for money for your enjoyment stand on the side of the road like the bums do with there signs. And for you to blame the tuner right off the bat just trying to get so simpathy, just do us all a favor and deal with it..............

I'm actually very glad that you said this. Everyone has their own opinion, but it was making it a little difficult for me. The thought of a Peace Officer waiving a confederate flag at me is not something I want to experience in the Maryland country side.

See theres the perfect car (van) for situation, you can give him a honda if you have one he prob likes to ride the rev limiter anyway.... and that you can shift at your 8+rpms which you like to drive at....

Here is where I see the problem. He sent over about 8 logs. No 02 logging and no knock logging. So the logs are basically useless, telling me nothing but boost and rpm. As a side note there were no mis-shifts in the 6 logs he sent me, so this wasn't from an over-rev from what I can tell.

You should tell the whole story. If we need to be better educated when we have a tune we need to look out for each other. We do not have the knowledge of the various tuners, that is why we use their services and place a lot of trust that they will take care of our EVO's. It sounds as though there is a trust issue here.

I race like most people at the track I go streight. What did your friends say I do tricks or something. Well I have friends that I race with too and I seen how I race..... I been racing for for a long time.....
